Could Raleigh eventually host a Franchise?

Dude you are advocating for a hockey team AND a soccer team? Go fold some clothes, Nancy.

Meh, I my loves are College Football, NFL (NFL was first until I realized we will never fire Rivera and Shula), College Basketball, NHL/NBA, International Soccer, baseball, and then whatever.

I will give you this...I am not a hockey fan but went to a canes game and was really surprised at how much I liked it...fast, lots of energy, and the players were obviously big time athletes with skill

now soccer (which you guys in Raleigh love) totally sucks

I'm not an MLS fan, more of an international soccer fan, honestly.  MLS is trash.

One positive of the USA not qualifying for WC is now we don’t have to watch any of the WC games. Please don’t be that guy during the summer who gets pissy when the bar won’t turn on Uruguay vs Australia.

Oh no, I’m not watching anything like that.

All the points have already been said, but just a quick lol to the people using the Hurricanes as a reason Raleigh couldn't have an NFL team.  It's hockey. Not just that, it's awful hockey.  With 40+ home games a year compared to 8+.  If you shorten hockey's season to 10 home games, holy poo the place would probably be filled up...crazy thoughts.

Charlotte is the Panthers home, and I'm not advocating for a move to Raleigh either, but the sell-out situation is silly in general.  I know in my situation, I'd probably have season tickets if the team was in Raleigh (45 minute drive), instead of Charlotte (2+ hours).  A lottttt of people like me in different areas that are much closer to Raleigh than Charlotte.  A lot of money and business in the RTP to compete with Charlotte.  Raleigh wouldn't have an issue filling the stadium....

Especially when it could be just like Charlotte, and be 25%+ opposing fans half the time.

A city nobody talks about for the Carolina's is Myrtle Beach.

That area could easily support a NFL Franchise. It would be like Miami.

You telling me I can go to the beach and watch the Panthers. Just imagine the money they can make off tourist alone. Catching a Panthers game will be a main attraction because there really isn't anything else to do but go to the beach.

Thanks for making this thread even dumber.

I mean, that's cool. But, the Hurricanes haven't made the Playoffs in eight years. Agreed, there isn't a comparison. Because the Canes have been more successful. And are STILL the only team in Carolina history with an actual Title. You can keep hyping up fans in seats if you want, like it matters. Because, it doesn't. As the Canes are still turning a profit. LOL. Keep it up, man. And I couldn't care less about this back and forth which city is better. Personally both are solid cities. But, there is something Raleigh has that Charlotte doesn't. Two cities beside it that are also growing in Durham (this one has grown tremendously), and Chapel Hill. While Charlotte has Charlotte, and that's it.

You had me until the last few sentences.  There are a lot of cities and municipalities around Charlotte that are growing even faster than Charlotte itself percentage-wise.

And Concord, Gastonia, & Rock Hill are all bigger population wise than Chapel Hill.  Cary would be a better comparison than Chapel Hill.

Anyway, I've spent a lot of time around the state.  Here recently I've been in the Triad a lot for work.  It's not growing insanely like Charlotte and Raleigh, but it's not podunk either.

The Carolinas are great, and I think the best thing to come out of this thread is to prove the Carolinas are more than capable to support a NFL team, and will continue to be a larger market compared to other NFL markets as time goes on.

Yea Raleigh is a cool place

If you like earning 1/3 of what you should be making, granted 1 of the other 100 60 year old's applying for that same job don't get it.

Love cop and courthouse corruption, how is 20 fuging courtrooms full 24/7 in a little city. Ohh and theres 0 chance your getting any fair deal when it comes to any ruling to whatever fake charge they gave you

Going to bed at 8pm. Ahhh right sorry, there's like 2 streets in Raleigh with a few late night bars, fugin ballin brahh!!!! Totally doesnt get old after like the 5th to 100th time you go to Glenwood or Fayetshitt, which happens to be directly next to the courthouse and 100 zillion cops waiting like parasites for you to jaywalk or something. BUT!!!! They are fancy bars! You can buy a beer for 8 bucks like out in San Fran, Woooooooo! Except you get to also watch a bunch kids with fake ID's along with college students throwing up all over the floor, cause anyone with a degree or half a fuging brain has moved out of Raleigh by their mid 20's.

Raleigh is getting so huge broooo, they said 15 years ago cause the city is working on that 5 story building

Raleigh is getting so huge broooo, they said 10 years ago cause the city is still working on that 5 story building

Raleigh is getting so huge broooo, they said 1 year ago cause the city is finished working on that wood building *SPOILER ALERT* it burned down.

Maybe whoever owns Harris Teeter can draft up a bid out in Raleigh. I hear the grocery store business is boomin like tech. Well not really, but they pay all their employees like $7.25 an hour, so hopefully they have some money saved up.

P.S.

NC State is crap....

at everything... Primo College pricing in an underdeveloped economy with high unemployment and absolute garbage wage income. Lmao its fuging highway robbery to charge that much.

Also bad at sports...All of them..Quit comparing yourself to Duke and UNC, it's embarrassing to listen to you guys talk about your popwarner teams like they are Hall Of Famer's, just stop.

This is all
