Can we get to the super bowl if cmc is the lead back?

Considering the fact that CMC is both averaging more yards per carry and has 300 more yards than Stew in roughly the same number of total touches, we'd probably be better off.

Let's face it. Stew has only had 2 good games all season long. He's had another 2-3 okay games. He's had another 10-11 games where he's looked like a total JAG.

If we get past the Aints in the first round the only other team I'm remotely concerned about is the Vikings (who we most likely would face in the CCG). The Eagles look like a prime candidate for 1 and done after the bye without Wentz, the Rams lack playoff experience, and Falcons/Seahawks are massively flawed teams that won't make a run.

Yeah, the Vikings and Saints are the best. The Panthers match up pretty well with the Vikings, though. And the Panthers know they are beatable because they've already done it this season. The Saints are a different challenge. However, they, too, can be beaten.

What I like about the Panthers is, they've felt like a "wild card" -- in the true sense of the term -- all season long. Sloppy, inconsistent but surprisingly effective. The offense's unpredictability is a strength and gives them an edge. I like their chances.

the eagles clearly are bad without wentz. nick foles is a statue and bad at playing qb. even doug peterson can't save him.

their secondary is also a turnstile. just simply pretending you're doing a double move will probably send their ankles to asia or something. they spin like tops on the field. this team is clearly not a threat.

with that being said, there's a lot to say about how key a good qb is for the playoffs. while jared goff is clearly having the year of his life, most of that can be attributed to mcvay being the eyes for his qb and basically calling the plays as early as he can. theoretically, luke could easily counter in the 15 seconds the rams have to shut off the connection with mcvay with goff likely unable to counter.

as for the rest, you have case keenum who's shown to be bad against our defense, and then drew brees and matt ryan/russell wilson. clearly put, our biggest competition will be the saints if we have to face them.

however, we could just as easily find ourselves en route through the rams and eagles to the playoffs with a rams loss to the 49ers.

so, just think on that a moment. i'm sort of just jotting down my thoughts, but we could have a pretty easy path until the nfc championship if the dominoes fall the right way.

I would definitely prefer the Rams on grass than the taints in their dome. Ideally, the planets align and we catch the #2 seed, but I'm screaming for a TB and 49ers upset this week. Right now, we just need to go down to Arthur's leaky anus and take care of business.
