Do I have to much faith in Cam?

You can't own someone if you have a losing record against them.

Cam Newton's career numbers vs. Atlanta in 13 full games are as follows:

226 completions

393 attempts

57.5% completions

2726 passing yards

210 passing ypg

662 rushing yds

51 rushing ypg

3388 total offensive yards

261 ypg

17 passing TDs

7 rushing TDs

24 total TDs

12 interceptions thrown

My only beef with Cam is wearing ATL gear and playing soft against the Falcants.

I'm curious, what specifically are you basing this on?

Honestly just about every time I've seen Cam in Atlanta he seems to be even more animated/emphatic when we get on the scoreboard. Not to mention that 3rd down run in Atlanta where Newton converted carrying half the Falcons defense with him.

Cam is who he is. A streaky passer who can make every throw but with inconsistent accuracy, who also happens to be the best athlete on the field 99% of the time. He's probably the most unique QB in NFL history, on any given play he's either Peyton Manning or Eric Dickerson. He effects every running play and forces the full attention of at least one defender on the back seven every moment the ball is in his hands. His biggest flaws is he can be a little slow getting the ball out and poor mechanics in the pocket lead to inaccurate throws, especially when pressured. That's why you don't want him throwing the ball 25+ times a game, odds are he'll make a handful of bad throws that can be back breakers if they get picked. I still wouldn't trade him for anyone else, on and off the field he's a joy to follow and root for.

This is basically it.   I think Cam is so good when he is on that people have to attach a reason to why he isn't like this all the time.  When Cam is decisive in his drops, gets the ball out quickly (like on that touchdown pass to byrd last week) the quick slant off the play action, you wonder why the f#$# can't he do that all the time.  Couple that with the big runs and you realize how special he is.  I just wish I could figure out why it's so hit or miss sometimes.

Does yesterday prove my point? IN Atlanta playing the Falcants he has lacked focus. He doesn’t play well in Atlanta and it’s something I’ve been watching a couple seasons.

I have 100% confidence in Cam getting the job done next week. I really believe the coaching staff and Cam was taken by surprise by the JStew injury. CAP looked like he hadn't practiced with Cam at all. He couldn't even take a hand off much less do what Stew does with the zone read RPO plays. That seriously limited the run game and caused us to get a little pass happy yesterday. If the D plays as well as it did yesterday as far as forcing field goals and we don't turn the ball over we have a decent shot.

Cam started 0-8. I may be wrong but I feel that he thinks it’s a homecoming game on the schedule. I came to that conclusion by the warm up apparel.

Personally I don’t know the feeling of having to play against the Bears or the Panthers.

As a fan I’d prefer the Steve Smith approach, “blood and guts!”

Cam didn’t perform well and as THE captain of the offense he has to take responsibility. I’m the biggest Cam Newton  fan there could be. I just see a weakness and I pointed it out.

New Orleans is in trouble

Could you stop beating around the bush and just speak your mind already?

I'm not going to respond to you in good faith if you're just going to keep taking these vague swipes about how Cam plays against Atlanta. If you think he's intentionally throwing the game or easing up because of the city of the opponent just go ahead and say it. Otherwise please just stop. He was very animated when he was trying to rally the offense at the end. He was doing what a leader is supposed to do. Yes unfortunately Cam and the offense faltered when it mattered. All I can do is hope they come out swinging against NO, maybe they needed that ass whooping. But it looked to me like the whole team was content with the fact that they already secured a playoff spot. That would seem to point to the head coach. That's textbook Ron Rivera.
