Can we beat the Saints?

It's very hard to beat the same team 3 times in a single season. Ultimately, I don't have faith in Shula to devise a gameplan to keep up with Payton and Brees. Wilks can't be overly aggressive with his blitzing against Brees either, and we especially can't play the bend-dont-break defense we played against Jameis and expect to hold them to field goals.

We would have to play nearly mistake-free football, control the time of possession and finish drives with touchdowns, and probably force a couple of turnovers to beat them in the Dome.

It can happen, but I don't think it will. Not with Shula at OC, and not with Rivera playing the conservative garbage he does when we have a one possession lead with 15+ minutes left.

I'm itching for revenge...I want to win the one that matters against them, we are the team that is more experienced in the playoffs. Brees is the only playoff vet on that team.

It would be so sweet to knock them out and I know our Panthers want to make it happen.

I remember 03 when we had zero chance to win vs the greatest show on turf.

Anything can fugging happen, it's the fugging playoffs!!

Also if we don't Charlie Brown punts and fumble kickoffs we would have won the last game.

This team has surprised me before like in 2014 when a 3-8 went to NO and steamrolled them to kick-start am improbable run to a division title. We also have Olsen back, So I'm not gonna throw in the towel even though it's a rough matchup.

But let's get real. It It's not the fact that we got swept by the saints. It's the fact that we got manhandled both games. Outside of the 1st quarter of the 1st game, both games were never close. We were completely owned.

I think our WRs won't start on any other team, but our biggest problem is the DBs. I think they just don't understand our scheme and are a step behind most plays. If our front 4 doesn't get to Brees, he'll eat them up. Oh ya, and the part that pisses me off is the fact that they miss so many easy tackles. That reeks no discipline, and goes back to coaching.

For me a good sign of a great hard nosed D is also how they do against the run and team speed i.e how fast they get to the ball carrier and take him down. The media keeps praising our D, but we've been inconsistent against the run this year. The saints have 2 legit RBs, and one of them is an absolute beast.

TLDR: If our DBs get their head out of their collective a$$es, start to tackle,  fly around and make plays ... We win

I think we can certainly beat the Saints.  I know history isn't on our side (2/3 of 2-0 teams win the third game), but we have an offensive weapon in Cam that history just can't account for.

If we play with a little discipline, then when push comes to shove he will take over and will us to victory.  And it will be sweet.

BTW, Rivera and Cam have a winning record against Payton/Brees.  Quit being afraid of them already.

Of course we can beat the Saints, it's playoff football, but I do think we need to change something on offense and we need to to do it in ATL. We need to increase our rushing average yards and shorten the 3rd down yardage...I'm not sure if its the running scheme or what, but we need to see much different scheme than what we saw at home...against the Bucs. I think we just looked really, really bad Sunday and we're all a little freaked out.

Put me in the category who was anybody but Saints going into Sunday. Like others have said, it is not that we lost two, but the fact Brees picked our secondary apart both games and made it look easy. We need to play perfect. If we get the win, then I feel good about all other matchups in the playoffs.

Lol at the optimism with this poo coaching staff and no deep threat. Jameis almost had 400 yards vs our poo Secondary.  And you guys want us to stop the run so Brees is forced to beat us?  We literally have no chance to beat them.  Pray the Bucs beat them Sunday.

Go be a fan of some other team.

Find a way to take Kamara out of the game, or limit him, and we win. The Saints are good but Jesus Christ some people ITT think they're world beaters.  This is the same team that has struggled to close out some teams lately...

And yes, we lost last time, but think of ALL the missed opportunities last game.  Every time we started to come back, something weird happened. Clay's fumble sticks out as a big one.  If our offense shows up and clicks, we're one of, if not the best team in the league.
