They won't have to since the Bucs last ranked defense just shut Shula down like they WERE those Broncos.

Matter of fact this team has turd egged it in several games this year vs near last place defenses and a Saints defense with 5th stringers in.

Hint(in whisper voice): it doesn't matter what D you play against if you run it up the middle at least once on EVERY 3 down sequence.

If the Panthers run the 2015 offense or something similar to it, a good defense can shut it down. Hell a defense that plays gap contain and keeps assignments can stifle it and shut it down. If the use CMC or some of the offense earlier in the season mixed in with it then the offense clicks a little bit more. Today was old school 2015 football with deep throws, option runs and the bucs for the most part played disciplined and kept assignments.

Rivera is not the perfect HC.  I hate his loyalty to Shula.  I can only imagine how great we could be with an OC that was more imaginative.

That said an ugly win is as good as a great win.  It is still a W.

Everyone wants back to back to back winning season.   I know I do but the NFL is fickle and as the old saying goes.  On Any Given Sunday.   I think the gauge should be how many games were we blown out? 2015 we won a lot of close games and 2016 we didn't. Under Rivera I don't believe we have been blown out too many times.  We've had our games where we just laid an egg but for the most part Rivera has kept us competitive.

If Ron would get a better OC I would be much happier with his overall performance.

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
