I'm looking to buy a bike

Some kinda dirt cheap mountain bike. Not over 150 and maybe a knockaround/touring/go to the store kinda bike.

find an old specialized rockhopper or some other kind of older hard-tail mtb used. steel is cheaper and better for what you want it for. for $150 I'd avoid any kind of suspension at all costs, nothing but weight at that price-point. above all, make sure it fits you, ride it for a little bit, make sure brakes work etc.

oh yea, pull the farking knobby tires off it if you're going to ride it on the road, get some smoother ones. huge difference.

for $150 you're gonna get what you pay for....a POS...check out craigslist for used bikes...I'd at least double what you're gonna pay ..it's worth it, trust me
