Will never get released as "punishment", nor should he be for a silly technicality of a rule.

Would be fun watching Cleveland claim him, though.

A rule is a rule.  What good is it if it’s not enforced?  And what good is it if it’s enforced for some but not others?

Meh.  Speed limits are a rule.  But if a cop pulls me for going 1 over, I'm going to be pissed and the judge is going to laugh and throw the ticket out.

Depends on the jurisdiction.  Probably true since in most (maybe all?) places in the United States you technically can’t even go to jail for speed alone unless you’re going 15+ over.

But in this case the player being released is the rule.
