We Can Potentially be the #2 Seed Sunday Night

Currently we're the # 5 seed. But if the Saints, Vikings, and Rams all lose while we win Vs Tampa, that means we leapfrog the Vikings (both 11-4 but we have the head to head victory) for the #2 spot.  This weekend we should all be huge Falcons, Packers, and Titans fans lol.

Some interesting things I found from using the playoff machine

  • For Cowboys to get in , they would have to win out , Detroit would need to drop at least 1 of their last 2, and would need one team out of the Saints, Panthers, Falcons to lose their last 2 games. I think this is highly unlikely, 6 seed will be Detroit or Atl depending on if the falcons lose out or not.
  • Panthers can easily miss the playoffs if we lose the next 2 games (10-6)
  • Saints can miss the playoffs if they lose the next 2 games (10-6)
  • Falcons can miss the playoffs if they lose the next 2 games (9-7)
  • The most likely senario to me is , all the good teams win out except us and the Falcons. Falcons lose to the Saints. We end up beating the Bucs but lose a close one to ATL playing for the #6 seed in the last game of the season.  This means we'd end up facing NO at their place in the wc, with Falcons going to LA to play the Rams in the other wc.

In short , these last two week are absolutely crucial. Tampa Bay is NOT a trap game, its actually a playoff game pretty much. Because of we lose out, we could miss the playoffs entirely. The last game against ATL will likely determine quite a lot and could be a battle for the division crown, or just a fight to simply not get knocked out of the playoff race entirely.

Could...Ummm you mean will be the number two seed after this weekend!

It’s still possible, given the hate between the Packers and Vikings and the elements at Lambeau, but wouldn’t bet on it.  With Rodgers it woulda been likely.

The packers fuged us by shutting Rodgers down. It was bullshit anyway they activated him just to play us and fill a NFL storyline.

Yea story line or trying to make the Playoffs which was still on the table last week end and not now kind of a BIG difference

The Packers are fuging anyone. Just because we're dumb enough to play our injury hampered franchise QB when we're out of playoff contention doesn't mean that other organizations are as well.

Don’t disagree, but even last year I was “OK” with Cam playing in an identical spot as the Packers are this week vs the Falcons.

Playing him in week 17 vs the Bucs...

The moment we were mathematically eliminated, Cam should've been transitioned into 100% rehab mode. Had that happened, maybe we would've realized he needed surgery sooner and been that many weeks ahead of schedule compared to where we actually were this year with Cam clearly playing well under 100% for about half the season.

If guys are healthy, play them. But if you're mathematically eliminated and guys are hurt, pull the plug.

    • I don't think Rodgers but probably not for the political reasons I bet a lot of posters are motivated by. I just think he is not the QB for the Panthers, at all.
    • Sun Devils just scored another TD on BYU, 14-0
    • It wasn't great but  the 2022 NYG won 9 of 16 games plus a playoff game. He had a 92.5 passer rating. 15 pass TDs 3200 yards, 7 rushing TD, 700 yards 6 fumbles 3 lost.  His first season he had 18 fumbles lost 11. Wow.  Anyhow he had problems in 2023 with injuries and didn't win poo before tearing his ACL. This year, no Barkley, not good, but you know.... these ACLs take a while and it was right and he throws right so pushes off of it.  I agree it doesn't hurt to let that guy compete cheap. You don't hand him the job like with Bryce or NYG with him.  When I look at what we have been saddled with, he doesn't look worse and has the physical advantage. So I don't get the umbrage given our situation. This "No we won't settle for anything less that the best" attitude and then taking Bryce Young was pathetic and I think that attitude brought us to where we are. That's where that poo gets you. Away from Mayfield, away from Darnold, even away from PJ - just to replace them with an inferior PJ.  At the same time I am not really advocating for the guy just looking at it objectively. It could be another guy with the same story. And yes the odds of him getting it are low but the numbers and performance from 2022 are for sure better than we see with Bryce even after a season of major propping him up with better players around him. Take a look don't take a look he fails or he doesn't fail...   to instead sit here and be happier with what we have is bullshit.
