The stadium is paid for. Im not an economics major but why would a brand new owner want to go into debt when there's a functioning profitable stadium.

I'd like to think you're right...but I think these things are a little unpredictable.  The next owner is going to have to set a record in order to buy the team....they may want a Superbowl capable venue.  I'm not trying to suggest that it's going to happen....only that if it does SC should help and keep the team.

I think that many games presents  some  problems and since Charlotte is the home base that would basically be like an away game for the players logistically.

    As a casual observer, there are a lot of Panther fans in SC.  Especially in Rock Hill, Columbia, Greenville, and Spartanburg.  Even in Charleston there are a ton.  I've noticed three different tricked out vehicles recently that served as mobile shrines for the Carolina Panthers.  Also a double decker Panther bus resides down here...as well as all the usual Panther bud light neon signs.  A wave of Panther front mounted license plates.  Panther hats and shirts everywhere.  Every time I walk into a gas station with my Panthers hat on...someone yells keep pounding.  I'm glad South Carolinians are taking pride and ownership in the Panthers because we are tied to them just like NC. Restaurants and sports pubs are busier.  Business owners make more money.  DJs are booked, vendors are busy, bartenders are making bank.  I'm sure the hotels in York county love the situation they're in.  Not to mention the boost in revenue Spartanburg sees during training camp.  Charlotte is a border city, and I wished they would go ahead and rename Rock Hill....Charlotte, SC...but they won't.  

This is all a setup to say that It's time for South Carolina to invest into the Panthers.  While SC shouldn't pay as much as Charlotte because of the physical location of the team...it is only fair that they contribute a percentage of the economic revenue the Panthers create in SC.  When it comes to the sell of the team....if it comes down to a new stadium being the difference between whether the Panthers stay or go....S. Carolina needs to jump in and be the difference.  In this way SC could probably also keep TC in Spartanburg as well.  Also if they were to build a new stadium...they can build that puppy literally on the freakin boarder right by Carowinds.

I don't know if it's feasible but I kind of like the idea of building a stadium right on the line.

If they can do it with Carowinds....then they can do it with a stadium.

I don't know about playing 4 games in each state but it would be cool to play a preseason game each year in either Columbia or chapel hill/Raleigh

I still see zero chance in training camp continuing in Spartanburg post Richardson. 

Wofford was 100% his thing.  Plus virtually no NFL teams hold training camps in that capacity anymore.   Big loss for SC

Well I think they still have a contract....I'm not sure when that's up though.
