I heard something on pre-game on ESPN last night... one of the analysts said that vets like Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins have said that McDaniels is teaching them things that they've never even seen before at any level of football... that's something right there.

You mean like run up the middle, run up the middle, draw play, punt? Stuff like that?

Why? Because BB rotates his assistants through many jobs....personnel, defense, etc. I think that's a smart strategy. McD was not involved with the offense until 2004 (QB coach) I don't think.

Why? Because BB rotates his assistants through many jobs....personnel, defense, etc. I think that's a smart strategy. McD was not involved with the offense until 2004 (QB coach) I don't think.

Yep, they were saying that Tom Brady said that's what made McDaniels such a good QB coach was that he was previously a defensive coach and gave him a lot of new perspective on things.

BB thought McD was ready to be a HC and Mangini wasn't.

You have to know how to evaluate and develop coaches in the NFL. No one talks much about it but it's so important. Pats usually have the smallest staff in the NFL too.
