If the new owner comes in and tries to leverage a new stadium with my tax money or threaten to leave they can kiss my ass and leave.

They're rich enough to pay for a god damn stadium. My cost of living is high enough thanks to healthcare (thanks Obama) internet costs about to go up (thanks Trump) and student loans, I don't need to be taxed out of my ass to fund a new stadium for a billionaire. If they pull that poo then I'm probably done with football.

I have no clue what an AirBnB is. I am assuming it is someone renting out a room in a home?

Try it.....  beats staying in a hotel room and is typically a lot cheaper.

Just look at ATT stadium, City of Arlington paid over 300 million for it, NFL paid 150 million of the 1.2b cost. Arlington has almost paid off the loan in 8 years because of the extra revenue from sporting events and such with hotel tax, rental taxes going to the stadium.

The Cowboys practice facility costed more then the stadium at 1.5b dollars (it has a bunch of stuff built into it like hotels and such) and the city of Frisco helped fund it too. lol

Dude that is so inefficient why not just remodel the existing stadium with new  roof structure similar to the Dolphins .

Save money and get the desired upgrades.

I grew up in Arlington. Before the stadium was built. That area used to a great drive off of Randol Mill rd, now it is a nightmare. I remember when the built the new Texas Ranger Stadium..... since then... Moved from Texas in 1998.... that whole area I grew up in has blown up.

Yea traffic in Arlington in general is a nightmare, I live off Cooper st and right now if sucks. They've built up the area nicely around 6 flags, the cowboys stadium and ranger stadium.

Forgot and since you mentioned the Rangers, the city voted and approved another 300m to the Rangers to build a new stadium back in September.

Too add a roof that meets standards and to remodel the stadium to get it Superbowl standards (pretty much the only point with how nice BoA is) would probably cost 200-300 million and the city would be asked to front most of that money.

Smarter for the City and the team in that situation to get the 150 from the NFL, City throw in 200-300m and get the new owner to front the rest of the cost of a new stadium.

First of all, I think we all need to expect a few things.

1. If we expect the Panthers to stay in the Charlotte, local taxes will have to foot the bill to a new stadium. Look at what Nashville gave for a MLS team and Charlotte didn't want to and lost out on the team. There are many cities who would love to have the Panthers and Cam Newton in their city in exchange for a new stadium.

2. Jerry Richardson is a Carolina guy. He will look for a way to find buyers who will keep the Panthers in the Carolinas.

3. Charlotte will be taxed for a new stadium.

4. NC will probably be taxed.

5. SC will probably not be taxed.

Just my opinion

Unless the owner is filthy rich like Buffet, Bezos etc it’s gonna be hard to get a new owner  to shell out 2.2 + billion just for the team and then spending another billion plus for a new stadium (minimum cost).

All the teams that have gotten new stadiums have had owners that have been in place for a long time & don’t have other upfront cost.

IMO the best way to go is upgrading the existing stadium with new features addition.

-Helps the taxpayers

-Keeps the team in Carolina

-Faster construction time

-History preserved

No poo.. I went to Webb Elementary on Cooper St. I lived in Cooper Ridge Apartments.... heard they tore it down... I used to play in the field were the Islamic center is... back then it was an empty grass lot.. with trees, and bushes. Then we moved to Brendwood Apartments. I also went to the Boys and Girls club on Elm St. I visited last in 2007 when my mom died, and literally got lost.

you're right but what I was getting at is it makes more sense for the City to want the new stadium since they're likely to be spending 200-300 million for upgrades on the existing and going rate for cities on a new stadium is 300-350m.
