At age 22, our stadium shouldn't be considered old or replaceable by any stretch of imagination. This city is facing a number of other reasons why hosting a SB here is not that feasible in the next 15-20 years. The uptown is really small, attractions are minimal and doesn't lure in visitors, obviously hotels situation...

However, in 20 years or so, uptown will be a lot larger. Charlotte, more popular.  At that time, talks about a new stadium will be far more fitting.

I think we should shoot for a new stadium to be opened in 2030.

I don't like the comment about having to build a new stadium to stay.

Was gonna say the same thing. Seems the 22 year old stadium is already being used as a hostage to a potential group that may or may not milk you locals for more tax money under the guise of potential relocation.

I really hate that the NFL can do this to municipalities.

I didn't like Sabates' statements about the stadium.  Sounds like he really wants a domed stadium since he says BOA is obsolete (after the millions in upgrades) and for state and city governments to foot the bill.  Doesn't say NC gov't or Charlotte gov't so sounds like he would move where he can get a domed stadium funded.  Oh well.......

What Sabates wants doesn't matter.

He isn't part of the group.

Wait, hold up. We have Charlotte Motor Speedway, and all these 30 miles from downtown Charlotte. Now, how dosnt Charlotte have enough hotels? That is all Charlotte has, Hotels and Business complexes. Im so confused.

Charlotte is still on the low end in terms of accommodations.  This was one of the issues with getting the NBA All-Star game and will be one of the issues of ever hosting a Super Bowl.

BOA already has the best location. Don’t see where they would build another one unless they want to demolish it or make a big ass arena style stadium.

BOA is excellent. Its host to the best football weather in the league and has a great skyline. It makes the upper levels quite enjoyable. I would hope updates would suffice for a while.

Wait....who is doing this? Seems all speculation that it could so far.

Not in the first part of Febuary. Ice storms are worse than snow storms.

It is very much speculation right now and no one has done it yet. It just sucks because it reminds me of five years ago locally when people talked about the Raiders moving to Vegas or San Antonio and it was passed off as rubbish and now here we are.

Hopefully nothing happens but I’m waiting with somewhat bated breath.
