QB of the Future, and Fox's Job Security..

Need Dimbee to chime in but I think Orten in Chicago wasnt required to throw the ball much. The year the Bears went to the playoffs it was Orten that was QB. He is a good manager of the game just like Jake and that is what Fox wants.

How many weapons did he have in the passing game in Chicago? It seems to me that Denver has a much better offensive system with better weapons and he is flourishing because of it. His best passer rating in Chicago was 20 points lower than it is right now in Denver. Seems to me he can be a game manager as well as a good quarterback with the right offensive system. He is proving that right now in Denver. Who do you think has better numbers right now, Orton or Cutler??

In 2008 Orton threw for about 3000 yards but his biggest issue was his completion percentage was only 58% and his YPA was 6.4. This year he is on target for over 4000 yards his completion percentage is 63% and his YPA is 7.5. It is more than the numbers of attempts that are drastically different.

The same thing holding back Orton in Chicago may be the same kind of thing holding back Jake. Not enough weapons, a poor offensive scheme, and the belief that the quarterback should be a game manager rather than a good quarterback in a better scheme.
