Yep, try not to waste time with people who's minds are already made up.

My mind is completely open to solid science. Nothing you have said involves that.

You are arguing that meat is some how in the same ball park as fruit and vegetables in terms of healthiness. It just is not true. Sorry.

I need to fix my diet. I eat junk food and drink sodas like it’s going out of style. I turn 32 today and it’s starting to catch up— surfing a little bit and working used to be enough but not so much..

i notice when I don’t drink a soda for a week or so bloating goes away noticeably fast. Haven’t tried giving up junk food. I know it’s time to revisit my diet, I’m just too busy. I own a electrical contracting business so I’m driving around town constantly hitting the fast food when I’m hungry.

not sure about going vegan. I’m pretty sure I’m an obligate carnivore. Isn’t there something similar to what cavemen would have dieted? Only natural stuff, no refined sugars, bread (god that stuff is good) nuts beans fish non processed stuff?

Look at the protein. Proteins are just chains of amino acids. Animal based proteins are complete, plant based proteins aren't. They lack essential amino acids. Now, if you very carefully manage your plant based proteins you can get a well rounded amino acid profile, but it's difficult.

Do you know how that works?

It's pretty interesting.

Thanks to evolution, our livers pool proteins together and store for days so that it can synthesize a human protein without worry. As long as you aren't eating just one type of plant for an entire week you don't need to worry. This is far from difficult, in fact it requires no effort.

Evolution worked that out for us, because we ate mostly plants for nearly most of our existence. You know, the time before heart disease and cancer.

Yes, animals do have a "complete" protein, but they still need to be broken apart and reassembled into a human protein. It's not like we can just use them right away.

Raw red meat? I’m intrigued. Like what?

https://keeperofthehome.org/the-health-benefits-of-eating-raw-meat/ here’s some of the base facts. I don’t have time to go find the actual case studies at the moment but if I get some time later I will.

If you eat raw red meat. Make sure it’s fresh and hormone/antibiotic free, free range. Don’t follow the grass fed bullshit, which is absolutely annoying in my opinion people buy into it. All free range cows(non mass produced) are grass fed until the last six months when they are fattened with grain to give good marbling, texture and boost the amino acid production from added proteins in the grain. I see nothing wrong with this technique. I find it to be a shame they market grass fed as a more expensive product when it’s less healthy(as long as you are comfortable eating animal fat) and cheaper to produce.

The most appetizing cuts are of course high end steaks, such as ribeye and filet/tenderloin. Steak Tartare is my go to.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, please to anyone out there considering eating raw red meat. Make sure it’s fresh as fug, has been frozen for a minimum of 24 hours during transportation at least and is from a highly reputable source. Not your neighborhood food lion or herris teeter. I wouldn’t even trust some of the stuff I seen come from Whole Foods raw. Do not eat raw pork or chicken unless it’s from/in Japan where salmonella does not exist. Raw chicken is divine though.

With fish, I know everyone always ask is the sushi fresh or frozen?! Blah blah blah. Sushi under law has to be frozen for a minimum of 24-48 hours to kill anything potentially living in the fishes flesh and there is still a risk even then. The proper question to ask a sushi chef is, did they cut the fish today.

Enjoy your ecoli. Do some reading on how much fecal material is found on all meat.

You mean the time you'd hope one or two of your eight children survived to adulthood and you were lucky if you made it to 40?
