man some people get real triggered as soon as people whip out the V word. it's like they tie their masculinity to their diet and belligerently cling to it as the one thing they can control it in a world changing rapidly around them

I look at it as such.

I don’t want religions pushing themselves on me.

I don’t want vegetarians telling me why they are so much better just for the sake of saying why they are better.

Im completely open socially to almost any ideal. And love having a rational discussions about food, but both sides have to be objective.

animal products fug up your arteries.

there is no magic or variablility or "well some things work for some people and not for others" deflections.

i am not an ambassador for vegetarianism. i'm excited about what it's done for me. i also still eat meat occasionally. but there is no debate. consuming animal products is horrible for your arteries.

Good for you. I'm happy for you. But, you're painting with far too wide of a brush there.

Hint: all "animal products" aren't nutritional equivalents. Far from it.

It's pretty easy folks. Fill your calories with as many healthy foods as possible.

Healthy Foods:

Fruit, veggies, beans and legumes

Not so healthy foods:

Meat , dairy

Fuggin nasty foods:

Processed meats, processed foods, refined sugar

Eat as much as you can as the first group and as little as you can of the other groups.

No nutritionist has ever said to eat fewer vegetables.

Bulletproof coffee! Coffee AND butter!!!

It's unbelievable what people will fall for when looking for a shortcut.

I actually just learned from my lady friend that if you put butter in your coffee the fat slows the release of caffeine allowing for a much longer effect of caffeine on a slower time table.

No wonder I have no issue falling asleep after a double espresso with a steak dinner.

I wish people would understand that virtually all "leading nutritionists" are trying to sell them something. Here's my opinion with just enough science and research sprinkled in to make the average person think it's legit (but don't ask for actual clinical trials... or if they do exist there's a good chance the sample sizes are tiny or other controls lacking). Oh, by the way, here's my book and some supplements I'm pimping.

that's fair. i rarely tell people about my dietary choices irl unless they ask. i remember the instinctive response i had to the idea of vegetarianism for my entire adult life and i'm under no illusion i'm going to change that.

i do wish people would look at the science. it's really not hard. you being in great physical shape on keto diets doesn't mean your arteries aren't in awful shape. the science on what animal products do to your body is conclusive, as is the demonstrable effect industrial level meat production has on society and the environment.

i judge no one for their dietary choices. i attempt to convert no one. i do wish people would think more broadly about their health.

Why would I eat my food's food?

Seriously tho moderation is the key to everything. Eat what you like, in moderation, watch your calories and keep your weight in check and you'll be better set than most in this country.

if having only moderately clogged arteries is an acceptable middle ground for you than yes this is great folk wisdom

99% of their diet is plant based. The other 1% is termites and other insects and the occasional cannibalism. So that is the diet I follow.

Except you aren't a chimp, you're a human. They're genus pan, we're genus homo. Not great logic unless you want to start walking on all fours, throwing poop at people, and grooming yourself with your tongue.

The confirmation bias is strong in this one.

Look at marine sources. You'd be very surprised. You might fight your entire paradigm shattered.

I have.

You are aware that fish provide no nutrition you cannot get from plants right? All without the Mercury.

Surely you knew this. You read a lot.
