I prefer the almost completely different approach and go on a Ketogenic routine for a 3 week span, intake good carbs for a weekend and kick right back onto the cycle, rinse/repeat.  I sleep better, have more energy during the day and my cholesterol/Triglycerides/blood pressure have never been better.  Keep my Net Carb intake under 50g per day and it feels great.

Ever have a blood test without fasting first? It will shock you.

Me too, though I was at a Christmas party the other day and I ate some pork on a stick. Jesus Christ is was good. I doubt I touch pork for a long while again but it was a yummy treat.

Pork kills me now. I can eat chicken or turkey but it just doesn't feel right. Just like dishes with a bunch of dairy.

Are you saying that meat is an unsustainable industry

yeah man it's awful. the amount of energy it takes to produce a pound of steak is insane. cows eat tons of poo and produce tons of poo compared to the calories they actually provide. industrial scale meat production is one of the biggest environmental threats of this century and it's only getting worse.

i don't really expect people to care though -  people are people, and hell, i didn't either for all but the last year of my adult life

i consume 120-150 grams of protein every day and it's all veggie. vega protein shakes, massive bean burritos (delish) protein cereal breakfasts, etc

You didn’t strike me as a veggie too. Huh. Glad you guys can find some solace in it. I personally follow a heavy protein diet. I mentally cannot function without it. But to each their own.

I hate how people treat vegetarianism like its a blank answer to all their health problems. you still have to put in the work and watch what you are eat. A lot of vegetarians eat like poo, hell even Oreos are vegetarian. Moderation is key and limiting carbs and sugar.

True, vegans can eat like poo.

I usually don't call myself vegan.

I follow a whole foods plant based diet. Plants only, as little processed food as possible.
