Pescetarian for me. I eat small amounts of seafare.

Me too, though I was at a Christmas party the other day and I ate some pork on a stick. Jesus Christ is was good. I doubt I touch pork for a long while again but it was a yummy treat.

Refined sugar? It is a good step but only part of the equation. This includes white bread and white pasta which the pancreas treats the exact same way as sugar.

Don't cut out whole fruit though. (you can ditch fruit juice, it is no different than a soda)

Give people realistic, livable goals and see change. Don't bury them in ideal situations, it will be short lived and ineffective. A perfectly clean diet is the end game, not the start.

i've been vegetarian for a year now, albeit with occasional failings (i never eat chicken but god i love a good new york strip) and two months ago kicked off the most serious weightlifting routine of my life.

i cut out sodas completely, started drinking 1.25 gallons of water a day, lifting heavy 6 days a week, eating vegan protein shakes, 99% vegetarian meals (still fall for meat occasionally)

i'm up 21 pounds, lifting 20% more than when i started, lost two inches off my waist

also now i'm not going to die because my arteries get clogged with poo and i'm not putting money into an unsustainable industry. too many advantages not to make the change

I feel like not laying on a table with your chest cracked open is a realistic goal.

I prefer the almost completely different approach and go on a Ketogenic routine for a 3 week span, intake good carbs for a weekend and kick right back onto the cycle, rinse/repeat.  I sleep better, have more energy during the day and my cholesterol/Triglycerides/blood pressure have never been better.  Keep my Net Carb intake under 50g per day and it feels great.

Thank you Mr. Trump, but shouldn't you be somewhere burning the hell out of an overpriced steak.
