Is it time for BoA to be demolished/rebuilt?

Warning: This is going to be kind of long

I work for a company that does contract work for Charlotte Pipe.  As many of you know Charlotte Pipe is directly across Morehead street from BOA.  For like 10 or 12 years I have been hearing about the "handshake deal" the owners of Charlotte Pipe (the Dowd's) had with Jerry Richardson to buy the land for the purpose of placing a domed statium that would hold a super bowl.  The city of Charlotte does not like Charlotte Pipe because of all the polution it creates.  Charlotte Pipe does not like the city of Charlotte because they have created laws that will not allow them to expand their operation.  For about 10 years I have been hearing about how the company was getting ready to move.  Now, Charlotte Pipe has bought 100's of acres of land about 30 miles outside of Charlotte.  Their is suppose to be some big decision in February of 2018.  So it sounds like a new stadium is already in the works, however, within the last 10 years I have heard this story at least 2 other times and nothing happened.  This is the first time the company has had enough land to actually do it, but who knows.

Charlotte Pipe currently holds 55 acres across the street from BOA which would be more than enough for a new stadium.  However about the first 15 feet of all the topsoil is so covered in contamination that it would have to be cleared out or the EPA would not allow any new construction to begin.

How will a new owner change all of this ??? I don't know.  The Dowd's don't need the money.  The have like 0 debt and probably enough assets that if they wanted they could be in the running as one of the buyers of the Panthers.  Knowing a few members of the family if they did not like the new owner they would just hold on to the land just to piss them off.

So if JR still owned the team I would think a new stadium would happen sooner rather than later but now, with a new owner, I don't know.  Still just something to think about.

I have heard the same from other people.  Makes decent sense as they could do practice facility or parking on current stadium site and logestics would essentially be the same.  I think if a new stadium was in the works they would have done it before they spent a couple hundred million upgrading the current one.

Was in ATL’s new stadium this past weekend for the celebration bowl (Aggie Pride!), and that’s a nice stadium, and easily accessible using the Marta.

Ive been to BoA many times, and my biggest complaint is the entrances or lack there of. That and there isn’t escalators. Other than that, BoA is fine and will be fine for another 5/10 years

...its a nice stadium...the memories are made by the games in that stadium....so no...no more burden on the city or the tax payers....especially when we have needy people that need to be taken care of...kinda hedonistic to do away with it and a shty  use of money....
