Is it time for BoA to be demolished/rebuilt?

I say NO need to rebuild a stadium.  While some might say the stadium is old in time frame, it was build with what many of the reasons owners want a new stadium and that is there are a plenty of suites and a lot of club seats.  The club seats also have a very nice area for concessions, etc.  There is also plenty of space still inside for someone to do things, add amenities, etc  I also think the outside is very nice, cool, etc, etc.  I do go to plenty of stadiums throughout the country and while Panthers Stadium is not a mega billion place like Dallas, Atlanta, or Min... it compares very nicely to many and most of the stadiums of other teams.

Dallas and Atlanta (both had cheap dump stadiums compared to BOA) are owned by egomaniac buffoons and Minnesota saw the 3+ decade Metrodome roof collapse along with the very real at the time Los Angeles threat.  The Vikings WOULD have moved to LA or faced amazing lawsuits over safety/predicable Minnesota enormous snowfall.  NONE of the above apply to us.

Minnesota STILL had a HARD time passing the stadium deal.

they just upgraded that stadium.

also, it simply is foolish to move a money maker.  Panthers despite being a small market team is one of the more profitable professional teams in ALL of sports.    The big talk was always about moving to LA.  Well LA got teams now and LA don't really care.

Been to many stadiums over the past few years.

Of the stadiums I've been to, based on age of facility and overall "vibe", here's my 2 cents.

Better than some; Denver, New Orleans, Tampa, KC, Oakland

on par with many; Seattle, Chicago, Foxboro, Philly, TN, Indy, Detroit, Washington

behind a few: Dallas, SF, and NY

havent been to ATL, MN, or Houston but I'd suspect BOA is behind them too.

No need for a new stadium yet.  Pretty good shape for a 20+ yr old facility.

Google is fun.

Stadium is owned by "Carolinas Stadium Corp" (which appears to be a Panthers side company that would handle all stadium logistics, allowing for non-Panthers use contracts etc).

According to http://www.panthers.com/stadium/facts.html : Immediate interstate highway access allows a parking dump time of less than one hour.

I've seen some tailgates around the stadium that had dump times that far exceeded that.

Add Nissan Stadium and FedEx Field to your "better than" list... both are dumps.

I'd argue that BoA beats out Levi based on location alone.

I went to the Lions game this year and was impressed with Ford Field.

As much as I hate the Falcons and poo on the goofy design, the Sphincter is really nice.

Overall, BoA was definitely ahead of its time when it was brand new, and still is one of the nicer venues out there. It isn't flashy but it's a handsome design and sure as hell gets the job done with little to no logistical headaches.

I've been to Seattle (The first ever home game against the Cards about 15 years ago) and that place is pretty amazing...loudest stadium I've ever been to
