CMC Outperformed Alvin Kamara this week 15

Same exact amount of carries and catches, but more yards in both catagories.

He actually outproduced Alvin Kamara this week 15

Kamara : 12 rush , 44 yards, 3.67 ypc  / 6 receptions, 45 yards, 7.5 ypc

CmC : 12 rush, 63 yards, 5.25 ypc / 6 receptions , 73 yards, 12.17 ypc

Season Totals :

  • Kamaras still beating the pants of McCaffrey in season totals tho. Its kinda interesting that both of them got around the same # of touches in both rushing and receiving

Kamara  : 99 rush, 652 rush yards, 6.6 ypc / 68 receptions , 684 receiving yards, 10.1ypc ,  81% catch rate / 1336  yards from scrimmage /  12 total touchdowns

McCaffrey : 102 rush , 382 rush yards, 3.7 ypc / 73 receptions, 592 receiving yards, 8.1 ypc , 72.3% catch rate / 974  yards from scrimmage / 7 total touchdowns

Kareem Hunt : 242 rush , 1201 rush yards, 5.0 ypc / 49 receptions, 440 receiving yards, 9.0 ypc , 83.1% catch rate / 1647 yards from scrimmage / 9 total touchdowns

Leonard Fournette : 231 rush , 923 rush yards, 4.0 ypc / 29 receptions ,213 receving yards, 7.3 ypc , 72.5% catch rate  / 1136 yards from scrimmage / 9 total touchdowns

(In comparison, Ezekiell Elliot had 1994 yards from scrimmage and 16 total touchdowns last year)

Records to keep an eye out for

  • Record for rookie season rushing yards : 1808  (Erick Dickerson , 1983)
  • Record for rookie season receptions for a running back : 88 (Reggie Bush , 2006)
  • Record for rookie season receptions for any position : 101 (Anquan Boldin , 2003)

CMC needs 16 more catches to beat Bush's record of 88 receptions for a rookie RB . Highly doubtful he'll get it but he has an outside shot at it if we get way behind in the Falcons game and we have to pass alot . I think he'll finish with 85 receptions or somewhere just short of that record unless Cam starts targeting him way more than usual.

Both were good draft picks. CMC has proved worthy of a top 10 pick.

Kamara was a steal and probably OROY. It's ok as Panther fans to recognize how good Kamara is and still be happy with CMC

If they give cmc carries next year especially from the I formation he would easily exceed 1000 yds rushing and get 90 receptions . Especially if he gains 10 pounds. Right now stew has double his carries

One faced the Jets defense, the other Green Bay’s

Thats not really a good excuse

CMC vs Jets : 7 carries, 62 rushing yards, 8.9 yards per carry / 2 receptions, 35 yards . CMC had the best yards per carry average of his career vs the Jets

Albeit, he did have that huge run in the game, but its all part of his numbers. If you take out CMCs big runs then you have to take out Kamaras big runs in other games.

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
