Culturally, what will change?

New GM, new coach and even new quarterback are all very real possibilities once the team is sold.

How likely are such changes? Impossible to know, but there's precedent.

I doubt we move on from Cam. It's very likely though a new GM would like to bring his own coaching staff in though. It's why I'm pissed Dave was fired.

I wouldn't expect it, but it's valid to note Newton isn't as young as he used to be.

Bringing in a guy to play Aaron Rodgers to Newton's Brett Favre is not so farfetched.

My hope would be a strong shift from the faux southern values and 1950's approach to football into anything with very little meddling and a strong front office that also puts a higher emphasis on the offensive side of the ball instead of dumping entire drafts into the defense.

Maybe but with the right GM and ownership Cam has at least 6 probably 10 more years in the league. Probably not the ideal time to draft a QB.

Oh geez, settle down over there beaker.

It's Cam Newton. He is our franchise.

He is the current franchise, yes.

But some new owners want to start everything fresh, put their own stamp on things, wipe away the old, etc.

Guys like Thomas Davis, Ryan Kalil, Greg Olsen and yes, Newton, could be seen as remnants of the old guard, and expendable.

Will it happen? Unknown. But if you think it couldn't happen, think again.

Plenty of teams go through major changes after changing owners. It's possible for us too.

I hope the back office culture changes for the team employees, but as far as the outward facing, team/fan culture goes, I like what we've got now. The players and coaches are engaging, and Roaring Riot is building a well oiled machine that allows our fan base to travel well and affect the team's energy both at home and away.

I can get over the superficial bs like shield on the field if we get an owner who hires smart football execs and stays hands off otherwise.  None of this mom 'n pop shop family-run crap that leads to forcing your GM to hand out egregious long term extensions to old vets just so you can continue to have dinner with them

I think there is about a 10% chance of it happening. We have a winning football team and I doubt that constitutes rocking the boat. We'll unless someone like Diddy buys it.

Let me put it this way.

You're talking about someone investing a fortune into a sports franchise. If they are doing so then they must have at least some sort of understanding of the league and how things operate. If that is the case, they see other franchises struggling for years to find even an average starting quarterback, let alone a franchise quarterback who is likely headed for a hall of fame career when it's all said and done. At the end of the day it's about profits and longevity, and as long as Cam Newton is physically able and scoring touchdowns, I don't think he's going anywhere. You're getting a little ahead of yourself is all I'm saying.

I highly doubt Ron and Cam are replaced. Good coaches and franchise QB's don't grow on trees in case you haven't noticed.

One of Ron's best qualities that often goes unnoticed is his flexibility and willingness to work with others. Say what you want about his game management but the guy has been nothing but open and honest when it comes to the management of the team and the culture around it. He seems like a great guy to work with which is why the team has been able to attract and retain top-quality assistants over the years.

I guarantee you there's not one guy within that building who has a bad thing to say about Ron Rivera.
