Adams calls TD “Head Hunter”

You guys talking about him being ejected are nuts.

It was certainly a penalty because helmet-helmet.  Outside of that, no problem with him being hit.  He is claiming he was defenseless.  He was actively trying to tackle Jones.  Davis blocked him.

It wasn't outside of the play.  It was just too high.  If he hit him 6 inches lower, there is no foul.

IMO opinion it's not looking good for Davis, as 1) the block was an illegal crack-back block, 2) it was clearly helmet to helmet contact, 3) he injured the other player who no longer could play the game, and 4) Davis is already fined this year for an illegal blow to the helmet.  Like it or not, I think Davis is going to be suspended, regardless of what his intent was or how sorry he felt afterward.

Which brings up another question -- if Davis has to sit, is Shaq ready to go?

If they didn't suspend Michael Bennett for his antics then no way Davis will get suspended.

Yea, it was a horrible move by TD and he should’ve been ejected. He’ll get fined, and honestly he should be suspended.

If I was Adams I’d be upset too.

disclaimer: I didn't see this live, just the clips after, but you see stuff this bad every week. It sucks (for him) that it took Adams out of the game, and clearly it was a dick move and TD should be fined, but suspension or ejection would be overreacting IMO. If Adams had come back in, no one would be calling for a suspension.

There's no way to avoid all conceivable helmet to helmet collusions in the NFL. I seriously doubt Davis had any Ill will in that play and he seemed to immediately realize after the fact that it was an illegal helmet hit.

You can't villify every defender that makes a hit like that in the heat of the action Imo unless they have a rap sheet of doing it multiple times in a given season or few seasons

Adams has every right to be upset. It was a real POS move by Davis

You guys are all Benedict’s and Judas.

i watched that replay a bunch and he’s just putting his shoulder into the chest, his head leans away, so he’s trying not to blow him up.

You Benedict Judas Arnold MFs need to pick another team to root for.

He launched himself at the player and went helmet to helmet -- his arms didn't even come up for a block until contact was made. It was a dirty hit, an illegal hit and a dangerous hit that blindsided a player.

Now, that being said, while TD is known as a heavy hitter, I don't think he did this intentionally, but instinctually without forethought or intended malice. Something just clicked inside him in that split second of opportunity and he hit the man and hit him hard with the kind of hit that used to get you on the ESPN highlight real just five years ago. The hit fired off before he really thought about it and I think that is why you saw him in such anguish on the bench. A good man gave into a bad instinct at the wrong moment and he was immediately regretting what he did.

It doesn't take it away and he should have a fine and a suspension as per the rules, and he is very lucky he didn't end another player's career again (and that first one was against a Saints player on the opening day game right after Katrina). I doubt you will see him appeal the penalties but instead take it like a grown man.

Again totally disagree. The replay shows the shoulder to the chest, TDs head turn away so the blow up wasn’t intentional.

and this “launched” himself junk sounds like it’s coming from some real Packers sour grapes.

our fans are the POS.

Should we go dig up what you said when the Broncos players were head hunting Cam or OBJ on Norman?

Davis could’ve simply just grabbed Adams instead of decapitating him. There was no need for it.

Obviously he wasn’t trying to kill him but this is the crap the NFL needs to try to eliminate so this doesn’t turn into a flag football league in 10 years.
