I have never understood the hatred for Kaep, but it is undeniable that there are a lot of people who feel very negatively about him and the kneeling during the anthem issue. It is one of those things, like gun rights, abortion or religion, that is immune to rational debate. I personally don't care if he or anyone else is part of the new ownership group, as long as they don't move the team.

Don't care if he stands on his head during the anthem. He was dead to me even since he mocked us in that playoff game for the 2013/14 season :-)

It's a 48% percent share that is for sale. That won't go for $2.5B

Forbes got the Panthers worth at 2.3 billion.  If Richardson and family owns 48% and the number equals how much they are worth, that means Richardson's stake is worth 1.1 billion.  Also, this is what everyone is forgetting, this is a business.  Richardson is in it to win it, which means he wants to make a profit.  Now, he's already made a profit considering what he and the current share holders bought the team for.  Yet, they want to get more than the current worth.  Another thing, more shareholders may decide to pull out right along with Richardson, because they might not want to be under new leadership.  This could be a fire sale, especially if the bidding war gets going.

Altogether, if the entire team sales, we might be looking at 3 billion.

I say the minority owners will increase their stake...one of them will buy a majority stake

The minority owners are just as guilty as J-Rich in my book.  No way they didn't know what was going on. fug them and their minority stake.  New blood is on the horizon.  This is an image issue as well, in a hunting season for sexual predators, and the NFL is going to do all it can to put a new face on the Panthers' billboard.

Do we know that?

Jerry Richardson was certainly at the stadium daily, but none of the minority owners would have had reason to be.  They'd likely only show up when there were meetings of the ownership group.

Now, guys like Morrison, Gettleman, Beane and Rivera could have been in a position to see what was going on, and it's possible someone may ask them about it somewhere down the road.

At the very least, you'd have to expect Gettleman was aware of the incident where a racial slur was directed at one of his scouts.

So the liberals have taken this country from guilty until proven innocent....to now guilty no matter what, along with anybody you know.

Was the racial slur thing during Gettleman's watch?

The racial slur thing was apparently this year.  And doing a little research, I might have found the victim.

Khary Darlington was an African-American scout who'd been with the team 19 years.  He was with the team as late as March of this year, when he was reported as part of the group that went to scout Solomon Thomas.

But look up the scouting staff in the 2017 media guide and Darlington isn't there.  Two other African-American scouts are, both hired by Gettleman.

It's a stretch to conclude that Gettleman's firing is directly related to this incident, but at the same time, that is a very real possibility.

We have zero evidence to support that notion.

Among this group is Erskine Bowles.  Ya gonna throw him in there too?

If you say this about all the others, you can't leave him out.

All I am saying is that I'd be surprised if they don't inject some new blood into the league as a way to quell a PR nightmare.

just think,  we could just be getting started.  There may be others.

The league doesn't set the pool of potential buyers though.  Those people have to come forward on their own initiative, and they have to be able pony up the money to make a bid.

Add in that when it comes to the sale itself, Jerry Richardson will still have a say in the process, and that heavily strengthens the possibility that an existing partner will land the team.

Great point about JR having a say in the process.  Like it or not JR will have a say in the process.

We just did

This essentially nips in the bud the PR disaster of the past week even if the new ownership does not keep  her
