Kaep interested in joining Diddy ownership

I doubt any of these guys are really serious. If he was then I'd be against it, although the way hes dealt with some of his artists on Bad Boy would align with how many current owners treat their players; i.e, use them up and then discard them.

I'm all for Kaep and Steph being apart of a ownership group. Steph is a huge fan, and would definitely make sure the team stays. Im also for more of these players transitioning into front office or ownership roles once their done or whenever they can afford it. I'd like to see this for Steve Smith too.

The market lists the franchise at a healthy 3.2 billion, but that's not the worth of JR's cut. Unless the minority owners are selling too.. the new buyer should on the hook for 1.2-1.5 billion.

I'd expect the minority owners cashing out as well.  The NFL is on a down slope.

Do you realize how many people want to buy stake in an NFL team? The minority owners can cash out whenever they want, they don't have to wait until JR sells (provide 60 day notice).

Your statement is so broad in speculation that it has zero worth.

If anything, they will want to hold onto their stake until after JR sells, because that will make their stake worth even more, because the bidding will drive the value of the franchise.

You can't use the argument that ratings are down as an determining factor that the NFL is on a downward slope. Nor can you use that the NFL will have lawsuits. NFL is like Apple, they always have lawsuits going on, and they are always making money. All that matters is profit. Ratings are just a glamour stat for power in popularity.

Might want to temper your expectation, because it is wildly inaccurate.

Like hell it’s wildly inaccurate.  American football in it’s current form may be unrecognizable in a generation.  Politics on all sides, lawsuits, youth participation, inconsistent officiating, etc. highlight a litany of issues.  One would have to be blind or a fool to ignore the facts.

I look at it this way:  The team was initially was purchased for $206 mill, it's worth 10 times that now.  It wouldn't be that shocking to me to see the ownership group take their money and run, which they'll have a prime opportunity to do so at the end of the season.

You forget what money does. The NFL is worth almost 50x what the NBA and MLB are worth combined. The NFL increases revenue 22% year over year. They have shown zero sign of slowing down either.

Predicting the downfall of the NFL is about as stable of a theory as predicting a downfall of the US Government. Sure, its an idea, but those are doomsday concepts.

Those items you have selected are no different than:

  • Doping in the MLB
  • Gambling in MLB
  • Racism in MLB
  • Racism in NBA
  • BEATING FANS IN THE STANDS NBA
  • Refs and Players Gambling in the NBA
  • Rape allegations in the NBA

These were all expected to be league threatening allegations, yet there are just fine and improving in the fan department. Now you think a tyrant like the NFL could be brought to a hault over poor officiating?! lawsuits? LOL, Youth participation (highest it has ever been), and whatever else falls under "littany of items."

You have to see the NFL as a business, and not entertainment. That concept has gone long out the door. Until CTE is proven to be directly from football and ONLY football... we won't see any dip in their revenue or popularity.

Also, you do realize there are now companies in America who are solely specializing in tech for football? For safety, and tech. The last thing to US government will allow to happen, is NFL shutdown - the sport is the true american sport and is huge in US generated revenue.

Even if they are a "non-profit" the taxes on land for stadiums, team paychecks, and memorabilia sales drives the economy like no other.

We don't know what the minority owners bought at or what profits they are making now. It's all about streamed revenue, not punched revenue.

You want a mass exodus of Panther fans?  Have Kaep involved whatsoever in any aspect of the Panthers team or organization.

That ain't got nothing on a sexual harassment and racial slurs.... besides if this idea of Kaep coming here were to ever happen he is> DA. I'm just saying!. I'm not a Kaep fan and never have been especially after that playoff game that year in our house but I understood what his point was, mission was, and who inspired it unlike those that didn't care to ask why. And I'd rather have a football minded owner. If it were not a football guy, I'd rather MJ be the guy because of his inspiration to Cam.
