Why

If Atlanta loses tonight and assuming we beat TB we’re essentially locked into the 5th spot and the Saints 4th.

We don’t want to go to NO. Y’all can sit here and pretend like we have a shot in NO but we don’t.

The Saints will most likely handle the Falcons at home next week but regardless with Seattle losing yesterday we’re basically in the playoffs. We want Atlanta to win the next two so we’re either playing for the division week 17 or can drop down to 6th seed.

6th seed you’re most likely going into LA then Philly, that’s much easier than into NO and Minny.

Even Atlanta wins tonight and loses next Sunday, id prefer we lose to TB. Rams are most likely winning out and they own the head to head with the Saints and so do the Vikes.

To add on, if the Falcons beat NO and TB again and Panthers win against the Bucs, the division crown comes down to 12/31.

When the Panthers and Falcons play. Benefit being Cam playing during primetime where he always excels bc the game would almost undoubtedly be flexed.

I would prefer the Falcons lose to Tampa, then beat NO.  That would be the ideal situation.  With us beating TB of course.  :)

Forget I even jumped in here!

I think you’re right.

Chiefs and chargers have played twice already

Yes, I’m a moron. I don’t think the NFL will have a win or go home game in Week 17, as they usually prefer.

Best scenario for NBC is ATL wins tonight and next week, and we win next week, and the Week 17 game is for the division.

Yea, I’d really like to avoid NO at all costs as well. I’d be down for this

I don't care an out seeding to be honest. We've played well on the road this year. Just get in and whip all comers.

The only team I don't like on the road is the saints , which were probably going to be matched up against in the wild card .

We lost pretty handily both times we faced the saints , the only real advantage we have is we already played them twice and should have a decent grasp at their tendencies. But the main problem is we simply haven't been able to stop their run game at all .

Part of me just wants Atlanta to lose out. Even if that means NO wins the division. Because fug them, that’s why.

I would rather see the Saints lose out and miss the play offs while Carolina wins the Division and get a 1st round bye

The last senario I did had us at the Rams in LA and then the Cowboys at the Saints at the Superdome for the NFC wild card matchups, Eagles and Vikings have the 1 and 2 seeds

Its really hard to see the Vikings losing any more games , its looking like their game against us was a fluke and mostly result of them being on a long ass road trip of games. They round out the season probably facing a rodger-less packers team with not much to play for, then playing the Bears who probably dont stand a chance.

I think the Falcons will drop one either to Saints or Bucs, then we'll beat them in the last game , that'll put them at 7 losses and below Dallas if the Cowboys win out at 10-6.  I think Detroit and Seattle will lose at least 1 more game, leaving Dallas as the most likely candidate to get that #6 seed .

    • As I said less than 10 minutes into the game, Boston looks nothing like we're used to seeing. Regardless, any curb-stomping of the Bruins is welcome.  The scorers all got the glory tonight, but all 6 D-men had excellent games. Across the board- Gost, Orlov, Chatty, Walker and, of course, Slavin & Burns.
    • I just tried a few mock draft simulators and this is the only way lol. Nothing else makes sense.
    • No, biggest weakness is pass rush, but I don't think there is a blue chip can't miss DE prospect to take at #1 this year, same as with QB.  But beyond that, moving forward, yea WR is a pretty damn big weakness. We have 1 game this season over 224 yards passing and just traded away our best WR (who wasn't going to re-sign here anyways).  That WR no longer on the team was also the only player we've had this year who had over 78 yards receiving in a game.  So again, yea, WR is one of our biggest weaknesses even right now, let alone moving into the future. As I just said in my other post, I love Legette, but he's not going to be a Top 5-10 WR type of guy, Top 15-20 I can see, I think he can be a good #1 WR or an elite #2. After that, what do we have for the future?  Thielen isn't part of it, sure as hell isn't going to be Mingo, and as much as we all like Coker, in no world is Coker as our #2 to Legette as the #1 going be considered as "having weapons" at WR, even with Brooks and Sanders. But put someone like T-Mac into that group, who I genuinely think is going to be a Top 5 WR in this league for a long time, and it changes things.  A Top 5 WR with Legette/Coker as the 2/3, along with Brooks and Sanders, has the potential to be one of the best set of offensive weapons in the league if they reach their potential.
