They most certainly knew as they would have been parties to any legal action and as business partners probably would have had to approve an organizational settlement.

As long as whoever the new owner is does not move the team I am ok with and Piddy doesn't have majority he can join in.

Michael Jordan would be good option as long as he let football people run the operations.

I think that Jerry will have to sell his full 47 percent and from the wording of his statement it seems that he will be shut and done with any ownership in the organization. Belk could buy controlling interest or could make a push to purchase all of JR's shares, but their could be a fight in that case with current shareholders who could be looking to divide the spoils.

In truth, the more I think about it, the more likely outcome will be a division of the shares available with one person getting at least a nominal controlling interest. Those holding a stake in a successful franchise probably would rather own more of it than split it with an outside individual/group.

I'm rooting for a black owned NFL team..the league is compromised of mostly black players and they need to be represented not just on the field but in front office as well..

Can someone tell me how we can tell that who ever buys the team wont be "outed" by some disgruntled employee from the past ?  I don't give a shi t who you are, no one is a perfect human - we all have skeletons in our closet.  Most rich people have built their fortunes on the backs of their underlings.  Most rich people today made their wealth 20, 30, or 40 years ago when times and mores and what passed as the way it is was much different than today.  I believe that Jerry Richardson is putting his team up for sale in order to beat the  the other owners he knows are going to go down in this witch hunt atmosphere,  to the punch.

Bottom line is there are 4-5 BILLIONAIRES in Charlotte. Some already with ties to the team. Step up and get it done...
