Man, it worries me how any kind of due process is just thrown out the window these days.  Someone says you did it, and your entire life was shet and you should be banished.  ESPN was just saying he had a "boy" mentality with African Americans.  Cam's comments don't say anything like that.   Just would be nice to get some proven examples before he is just thrown out with the garbage.  Yeah, he probably wasn't all good but wasn't all bad either.  Jeez.

That's kind of the way I feel about where a lot of this is headed. Good example was Matt Damon getting skewered for saying there is a "spectrum" of these abuse/harassment cases. IMO, he isn't wrong. There is a spectrum. People just jump to conclusions that it means there is some level of condoning the actions. As far as Richardson, I think he fits the creepy old dude in power mold. Most of the harassment stuff was clearly unacceptable behavior but not Weinstein level predatory sexual abuse and rape. I think the best case scenario out of all of these cases across Hollywood, sports, etc, is that maybe people on the receiving end of these obvious examples of unacceptable and unwanted behavior will be empowered enough to stand up to these guys. That's always the best way to nip that kind of poo in the bud anyway, stop it when it starts.

As for the racial stuff, Jerry Richardson was born in 1936 in North Carolina. I'd legitimately be surprised if he didn't some some level of racism ingrained in him. That in no way condones his behavior towards the scout or even that kind of mentality at all but I don't see how people can be shocked when people from that era don't have modern views or sensibilities when it comes to that kind of poo. I deal enough with people from his generation or thereabouts and none of that surprises me at all. I am legitimately surprised he was dumb enough to actually verbalize that to a scout.

Fair assessment.  :100_Emoji_42x42:
