He's a terrible owner in a sport he knows well.

Don't want him anywhere near the Panthers.

Come on Scott you know just as well as everyone else why he needs to be the new “OWNER” and it’s not because of his great decision making.  All you race haters better get use to the idea of Briton Smith buying this team and you talking about a good ol boy HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABAHAHAHAHAH

If you're talking about First Ward, dude that is really important land. You can't screw that development up, you have to be careful about what you put there and when you put it there because it is some of the last undeveloped real estate in Center City. I don't blame him for not jumping at the first chance to put ugly South End apartments and a damn brewery down there.

When that gets done, it needs to be a part of what transforms Charlotte's center city to the next level. He's not a "terrible" developer...what is with you guys calling everyone "terrible" this "terrible" that? lol

Levine would be an excellent part of the ownership team -- he loves Charlotte. He doesn't have the cash to buy a team outright.

The Levine family already has a partial ownership stake (what percentage is unknown).

It's quite possible the Levines and the Belks could, at the very least, increase their stake.

I'm not really a fan of Bruton Smith either.

From what I've heard, it's be his sons actually running things on that front. Don't know as much about them.

We've had prior experience with brothers trying to work together to run the team. Didn't go so well.

Would it be different this time? Unknown.

I've never heard anything bad about Marcus. Don't know anything about the other brother.

I think by and large Marcus has been pretty good about trying to get NASCAR up to speed in the 21st century.

They are running his multi billions track organization I mean he owns like what 11 race tracks at a couple 100 million a pop.  Because they have tried buying the last time it was rumored to be up for sale

Marcus is the name we heard mentioned earlier today.

Most of what I've heard about Bruton has been negative, but for as big a nimrod as Jerry Jones is, his son Stephen actually seems I know what he's doing.

General consensus seems to be that the Smiths are going to be one of the groups bidding for the team, so I guess we'll see what happens.

I understand, but come on three decades of virtually no movement?

This is all we have gotten :crying:

I get your point, I'm not going to try to argue that he deserves to get some heat for talking a big game, but I do believe he does good work. We'll see if he follows through. His head is in the right place and I agree with what he ultimately wants done down there.

You have to have a lot of buy in from a lot of sides for projects like these, otherwise you end up developing something bland and lame like the Metropolitan. Imagine that going in First Ward. That's why he's being careful IMO.
