A uncertain future yeah that would motivate them.  Never know what a new owner will do. Play for the here and now.

It's not so much the lack of a true team logo as much as it stands for:  Bootlicking/supplication to authority with no perceived advantage gained, and wholesale acceptance of mediocrity.  At least in my mind.
