They just said at half time show that NFL advised JR to sell the team during multiple phone calls this am.  NFL might drop investigation because JR is selling the team.  Besically Goodell is trying to save JR face.

That's some bad Huddle translation. What was actually said:

"Richardson had multiple conversations that caused him to conclude during the course of the day that his best move was to move on, sell the team. ... Does that end the investigation ... the league had no comment on that issue"

Here's the tape http://www.nbcsports.com/video/jerry-richardsons-decision-sell-panthers-could-end-investigation

Yes, I agree, Goodell will do what he can to save face for both Richardson and the NFL but the NFL would be his priority.

Well... lets just go win the Super Bowl and start a dynasty with the next owner.  God willing he won't be worse than JR...  It'll be tough to find someone that cares less about winning though.  Also, ADIOS HURNEY

And hello to an extension for the GM, Head Coach and OC. Can’t fuging wait

This team won't move, the reason is, the NFL is mostly PROFIT SHARING therefore, it would be stupid for them to EVER approve a move of a team that is in the upper half of money generating (which the Panthers most definitely are).     The other rich owners aren't in the business of burning money, so don't get too worried.

Anyway, I hope Cuban buys us, he turned the Mavs into a super profitable team and a contender.

This is GREAT news for us.   Richardson has always been a mediocre owner, who hires mediocre coaches, because it's HIS way (1955 way) or the highway.   He's a fossil that has kept this team from becoming better.

But his favorite player was Steve Smith who he treats like a son. And his QB is Cam Newton who surprisingly is “black”. And his HC is hispanic.

Mmmmmmmmm

Have you read the article? Those things have nothing to do with anything. The most used excuse is "I have black friends". That has nothing to do with what he has been accused of on multiple occasions.

A move won’t happen. Apart from Sacramento, St. Louis and Orlando, all the other media markets ahead of Charlotte (#22nd largest overall) have established and popular NFL teams. The Panthers also get Raleigh (#24), Greenville (#38), Greenesborough (#48) and Colombia and Charleston (#78 and #91). All told the combined media markets of the Carolinas have 6 of the top 100 and are about 4 million households strong. Only New York, LA and Chicago are larger.

I live in the Charleston area and it's also growing (last estimate I heard was 50 people per day). Boeing is already here and Stanley tool just announced they are coming as well.

as bad as this situation clearly is, jerry richardson made the right move in the end.

don't mix up this organization with the mess he made. selling is the only good move he could make right now.

here's to the victims getting the justice they deserve and richardson owning up to his mistakes soon.

Absolutely. Give credit to JR for realizing this was the only way not to drag the organization and fans into this horrible mess.
