JR suck!!! and got screwed by the four people he paid money to shut up. Apparently they didn’t shut up.

Well... hope those people paid tax on those sums of money cause I bet you IRS is smiling right now.

The behavior is reprehensible, but the NFL has never forced an owner to sell for behavioral reasons and I don't think it will happen this time unless there is evidence of criminal misconduct.  It would take a vote of 75% of the owners.  Half the owners in the league could be called onto the carpet for similar (if not worse) actions, and they're not going to set a precedent that would come back to put a boot in their ass.  I suspect Richardson is going to pay a substantial fine, undergo counseling and perhaps be stripped of certain rights and responsibilities with respect to employees.

Oh so was Sterling.

I must have missed some of that then. I remember the tape of his remarks about players getting the most attention. Then his girlfriend or whoever she was at the time started getting attention for her bizarre behavior and people forgot about it. I guess that's just an indictment on society.

I say this with all sincerity:

I am not surprised in the slightest.  Some,  because the man is the owner of their favorite football team and successful businessman, see the man through rose-colored glasses to the point of being delusional. I've never ever bought into his hero status. To me he has always been a suspect old fart who is a product of the racist South.  He is the spawn of a hypocritical genteel culture with publicly understated feelings of superiority and overstated paternalism to the point of disdain toward certain segments of society. He is probably the epitome of a good ol' boy with all its negative connotations. Sure,  he's done some good here and there,  but there's likely enough skeletons in his closet to conclude that he's generally not a nice guy.

That would never fly in today's climate.

I expect at the very least, Richardson will be forced to sell his majority stake, and yes it's possible that he could be forced to sell completely.

Heck, if other members of the ownership group knew about and signed off on this, they could be facing consequences too.

He is a product of the period and culture that he grew up in.  If the accusations are proven true, he will suffer the due punishment for his behavior and they will be severe.

Be careful, though.  How many of us can withstand close scrutiny in our own lives?   Told a lie?  Cheated someone?  Spoke against someone else in anger?  Pride?  Gossip?  Committed murder in your heart (hatred)?

All of us are compromised. If not in great matters, certainly in small matters.  Be thankful your life is not under a microscope for all the world to see and judge.

'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.'

Go Panthers!

I’m not perfect. I’ve fuged up in life, and do my best to be a good person.

Never once have I asked a women if I can shave her legs. Never once have I asked coworkers or women working for me to “show me how you wiggled into those jeans today”. Never once have I asked or corrected people to call me “mister”. Never once have in inspected women’s finger nails and demanded and paid for them to get done.

You can say he is the product of a “time”. My father is close to that age, and I would say the same thing to him if he ever did anything like that.

It’s  disgusting. The people in the organization that stood by and let this be done are just as bad. I’m not trying to be a “white knight” and judge people. But if you have 4 payouts, that means that not only did you not learn once, but you had a problem. He can be from “another time”, but after the first time you pay someone to keep shut, and you don’t learn? That’s not a time and age problem, that’s a person problem.

The next question I have is, the money that was paid to the women to be quiet, where did it come from? Money earned and shared by the nfl? Money from ticket sales? Or personal funds? That might be the big flag for the nfl
