Sinking ship?  Please.  NFL draft coverage gets more ratings than NBA playoff games or MLB world series views.

A bunch of cities would get on their knees and do absolutely anything if they even thought for one second they could attract a franchise.

One day an owner will demand a new stadium. If Charlotte says no then the panthers could be gone pretty quick. It has happened over and over and recently. Not sure why you guys think Charlotte is magical.

The NFL just moved a team from a massive media market to a tiny one.

The owners would approve a move in a heartbeat.

The NFL is taking on water in every possible way, not the least of which are political, lawsuits, and youth participation. Anyone could have seen the storm clouds coming a few years back but the crackling thunder and rain has already started this year, obviously.

Without “boogeyman” Los Angeles (and now Vegas as well), there’s not one sane scenario of a city that’s bloodthirsty for this league enough to pony up $1.5 billion, and that the owners would consider better for their bottom line.

Vikings game last year comes to mind.

Point is it was nowhere near full and still counts as a sellout.

That was due to the issues with protests but I understand what you mean by the sellouts.  However I feel that we do better that a lot of teams out there compared to 20 years ago

Steve Smith is in town. A buddy of mine just saw him at Kid Cashew here in Charlotte. Not sure if it has anything to do with the investigation. Just putting out there...

Does he live here now?

He never stopped living here. His family home is in NC, and even when he was in Baltimore they stayed here. It stands to reason that since retiring and taking a TV gig that he would be here a lot more now.

For whatever you think of Jerry Richardson as a "football guy" (and I don't exactly think much of him on that front) this is not the kind of thing I would wish on anyone.

But of course, if he actually did whatever someone is accusing him if, then he deserves whatever happens to him.

Finally, an appropriate statement based on the information available.  Well said.  Thank you.

Veering off-topic here but remember Spurs (the London soccer team) are building a new stadium with a retractable real grass and artificial (NFL) turf PRIMARILY for the use of an NFL team. In the next few seasons there WILL be a franchise at risk of moving to London. Areas like Oakland won't get a new franchise as the likes of Alameda County (rightfully) can't bow down to Roger Goodell and demand the taxpayer pay the majority of a new $1 billion + stadium. fug Roger Goodell.

This is all moot as I doubt any new owner will look at moving us. I reckon if JR goes (in general, I'm not talking about this case AT ALL) then the board will have the nous not to hand the Panthers to a London or St Louis-based entrepreneur!
