Reading stuff online (wasn't alive then) it seems like ESB was initially received poorly, but after ROJ tied the plot together people were able to appreciate the risks ESB took. 

 

I have a funny feeling TLJ will end up being looked fondly upon after this saga is complete. I could definitely be wrong. 

ESB is dark and is best sequel ever made...these movies had a chance with TFA, but this movie kills it.  Too stupid and full of filler shet that lowers almost all the classic characters.  I would love to unwatch it.  Ugg.

I liked it. Like some of you have said previously, I think it suffers a little bit from being the middle movie of a trilogy. I think episode 9 is will clear things up and allow everyone to go "ahhh ok"

No way Kylo was telling the truth about Rey's parents. However, at this point I don't think it matters. She's already established. 

 

Also, the Leia scene is lame af.

Really dude?? is disney planning to make prequels to explain past characters who already died??? snoke was a throw away villian and the next star wars movie will have some new big baddie to take his place.

Well the whole death of the emperor was iconic so nobody had any issues with it.. but snoke?? just odd to me how he seems to be so powerful and dies the way he did.. I expected a real battle between him and kylo.

A battle would have been nice, yes. I always felt that Vader simply picking up a dude shooting lightning from his fingers was weak too though. I knew from day one though that we'd get no backstory on Snoke. Kylo is the villain.

I just want a competent storyline going forward.. they need a better writing team.
