holy cow i liked it a lot more, and it made a lot more sense today. There are a lot of little points you need to pick up in a second or so of screen time - not major stuff but if you are a fan they make you want an explanation. Laura Derns character made a lot more sense, Poes actions and consequences were not as dire either way that I might have thought they were. Finn and Roses expedition made a lot more sense the second time around (Del Toros deal was still a little out there). And the Rey/Luke/Kylo stuff held up great. Sets up a great Billy Dee Williams cameo in the last movie.

My son had an issue with the Laura Dern character's actions.  Wondering why she didn't just tell Poe what the plan was?   I guess I spent to much time in the Navy, because my response was, she is a admiral and he is a Commander.  She shouldn't have to tell him the plans.  He should just follow his orders.

Seeing it again right now let you know how it goes.

Took the kids this afternoon, it was even better the second go around.  I had time to process as the story went on and it was more of an emotional rollercoaster.  Going again this weekend with my parents.  We'll see how 3x works.

My only issue with the movie was the Casino part was pointless and they didnt have a cliffhanger or anything. this is the first star wars movie ever that i dont have any idea where they are going next.

I have a feeling that the casino scenes were setting something up in the next movie.  While it seems almost pointless in this movie, I think we'll look back and see how important it was.

Specifically, showing the kid at the end using the force to clean will be a huge plot point.  It's going to be the introduction of a new generation of Jedi's.

Overall, I liked the movie, but it felt like a typical middle movie of a trilogy.  I got the sense they were setting the table for episode 9.

The hero's got beat down, but at the end, just enough survive to give the rebellion the spark that will allow them to defeat the empire...not to mention that Luke is now a martyr.  And I don't think that's the last we'll see of him.  I'd guess that we'll see Luke as a force ghost to help teach Rey the ways of the force and to help her bring balance to the force.

Good movie, but one that we won't fully understand or appreciate until we look back and reflect once the entire trilogy is completed.

Haven't read a single post in this thread yet. Going to see it tomorrow, finally. Taking my oldest son.

I'm really surprised I haven't been spoiled or spoiled myself intentionally yet.

Buddy of mine sounded a little disappointed. Got me worried.

I didn't know Abrams didn't direct it.

Explains a lot.

Just wasn't a good movie. A whole lot of folks in here want it to be a good movie so badly they are convincing themselves it is.

It isn't.

Its not a matter of wanting it to be.  It is a good movie.  The review/ratings are among the highest of any blockbuster film this year.  If some people don't like it, doesn't mean it was a bad movie, just means that we have different opinions.

Apparently this is the worst performing star wars movie of all time at the box office..

Star Wars: The Last Jedi earned another $17.8 million on its seventh day of release. That brings its week-long domestic total to $296.5m. That’s the second-biggest seven-day domestic total ever, between Jurassic World ($296.2m) and The Force Awakens ($390.8m). So, yeah, with all the handwringing about trolling trolls mucking up the audience review scores on various opt-in polling websites, the movie is still making more money faster than any other film outside of the last episodic Star Wars movie. Insert obligatory #CanThisFranchiseBeSaved?

My feeling too, it is by far the worst of the new Star Wars movies.  there were a few scenes I liked but really didnt love the movie... Which I hate because I love Star Wars and have loved the new ones till now.

Saw it today.  Short take...Disney.  Sigh.  Stringing out the plot, and the plot was amazingly silly.  Great moments but literally short moments in a long movie.  Nearly all the dark sinister Empire is gone now.  Again plot was such a huge let down.  SMH many, many times.  TFA was so much better and Kylo Ren was a sign of things to come in that movie.  Too cartoonish and silly. Honest opinion...lackluster and sad really.

What made Star Wars great was the humanity of the story.  Gritty and believable.  Sadly its gone now.
