That was harsh, but I think I see his point. You have people in the media who've never touched a football ever in their life, who think they can give a qualified opinion on the topic. Hence why athletes don't respect most members of the media, unless they were someone who played at the professional level.

Except that the person he was talking to had touched a football in his life and was a college player.

Also yes, you can make a prediction/give an opinion on who is going to win a game(which is what the segment was about) if you haven't ever touched a football before.
