His play was key in the must win game vs falcons. When we got ahead in some of those games it wasn’t nrcessary to target him as much in the pass game

Get better production throughout the game, it doesn't come down to one play.

If you really want to isolate individual plays, he let a game losing interception bounce off his fingers yesterday, then misread a punt that nearly forced the Panthers to eat a safety.

McCaffrey is at 4.9 yards per carry and Stew is at 4.4 yards a carry in that same time frame, and stew had 2 monster games that skews his average way up compared to what hes done for the rest of the season, and hes had twice the carries CMC has

So you're saying one example has more data points and is better representative?

I would rather a RB's stats be skewed by two games than CMC's YPC being skewed by one run where he was untouched through a hole.

Bellicheck probably wouldve realized what McCaffrey was right away and used him as such. I think McCaffrey couldve gotten 1200 recieivng yads on the Pats and around 500 rushing yards.

I think McCaffrey is ideally a receiver who probably should mainly catch the ball and occasionally get tosses, sweeps and some directional inside runs.

We dont know what he is as a traditional runner because he hasn't gotten the workload even once this season of at least 20 carries. We simply dont know. The one time he had 15 carries he had at least a decent 66 yards on 4.4 yards a carry . For example, Ezekiel Elliot was avraging 4.1 yards attempt before he left on suspension. Gurley avereages 4.4 this season and everyones raving about him. Fournette? 4.0 yards per carry , and has 923 rushing yards on the season. Leveon Bell 3.9 yards per carry. Karreem Hunt, 4.8 yards per carry . The only back that has an insane ypc this season is Alvin Kamara.  Everyhone else thats gettng big rushing totals is a product of volume not insane production in limited carries like Kamara, which is far from the norm.  McCaffrey has averaged 4.9 yards per carry in the 2nd half of the season.

Its purely a consequence of workload imo. Even these so called great bellcow backs are averaging right around or below what mccaffrey averages for the 2nd half of the season when your run blocking has come alive.

well Stewart had a run like that as well. Lets not take anything out then.  In 2nd half of the season theyve both been running better.

Yeah but Belichick never would have wasted a first on him when you can get similar players just by abusing market inefficiencies within the NFL.

The CMC homers that scream for more touches are frankly nauseating.

The same fans that went apeshit for the longest time about force feeding Steve Smith or Kelvin Benjamin now want to give CMC as many touches as possible to boost his numbers. Interesting.

stats are everything. You don't win unless you have the best stats. Real winners have tremendous stats. I know a guy with tremendous stats, he is a friend of mine. Without his tremendous stats he is not my friend. Stats are YUGE, without stats YOU ARE FIRED.

tremendous yada yada yada big league more tremendous.... build a wall.

When Stew broke through that line,  I was like the man ain't dead yet.  I bet if he was running behind the Cowboys O-line then Panthers fans wouldn't talk so much poo about him.  The results would be a lot different. That being said, a changing of the guard has got to be on the agenda.

He wasn't drafted to start over Stew.

Ayy Red, I dont want to hear it unless CMC gets 20 carries a game. You have no idea what would happen if CMC get 180 carries instead of 90 (flipping carries amount with Stew) , or if he got 20-25 a game like every other normal lead back in the league. Hell Fournette only averages 4.0 yards a pop and has almost 1000 yards already, b/c of his insane workload

I don't think he's been getting enough receiving touches . Just 5 against the Saints and only 3 against the Vikings. Its very clear receiving is his gift and he's being used very sparingly in the passing game. He should be touching the ball 10x a game through the air and 10 times on the ground in my opinion.

I've noticed the last couple weeks they have been taking him out when we get inside the 10. He should be in there every play inside the 20. That's another player the defense has to be aware of. Don't understand that at all!!!!
