Why didn't we draft this guy?

Perfect example of feasting off the rest of the dominant Dline. He did nothing but have Wilson turned to him. He wasn't even in the play. 99% of QBs never allow him to be in the play.

Meanwhile, Shon just locked horns with the best WR in football, and did well.

I think either Barnette or Lattimore on the Panthers takes the D to best ever. Eagles Dline was equal to ours till they got him

You can't take defense every year and ignore cam for much longer. I didn't like the pick but something on offense had to be done.

...well... we need dudes on both sides of the ball now...what we have aint cuttin it.... just on the edge but coming up just a little short.

Yep.

All these people who claim Cam is elite also want him to have all these weapons and an elite defense to be effective.

Cam is Elite, for us to even have the record we have somewhat proves it. Look at Luck cant even play this yr bout the same surgery as Cam. Even tho we have lost 4 games we were in all of them except 1. Looking at our ol and wrs. You tell me Cam is not elite. Defense should be better than what is... Its not a top 5 defense. For what all we have invested in the defense it should be...Cams been here 7yrs and really only had Steve Smith and Olsen.

Im all for getting cam weapons but that was dicked up in the previous two drafts(butlet, Shaq), and we still could have gotten him some weapons in the later rounds of 2017

Gettleman should have been did that

6-4 defensive to offensive in the 1st and 2nd rounds under Gettleman and the defense is on a downward slope to end this season. How?

to be fair, its not just a numbers game. Sometimes you whiff on multiple picks for multiple years . If all those defense picks were home run hits we might be the jaguars level defense.

Butler has shown some flashes but has been in no way worth a first rounder, that was an egregious waste of pick when we could've gotten Derrick Henry, Hunter Henry, a DE, TE, that was terrrible. Him and Shaq Thompson were purely luxury picks at positions we were already stacked at, if these two picks would have gone to offensive studs we might have been a totally different team right now.

Gettleman really set himself up for failure and set us back at least a year talent wise for the team by letting Norman go before the 2016 draft. Drafting 3 corners was pure desperation to replace Normans presence and we still haven't found an answer. Bradberry's clearly regressed and doesn't have ball skills to make interceptions, Worely is trash, and I think Sanchez is out of the league. That was almost an entire wasted draft besides Bradberry being serviceable I guess but nowhere near a #1 shutdown corner that can take the ball away.

Gettlemans double edged sword was that he tried to always draft simular positions in the same draft which if done wrong can mess up the balance of talent on your team and leave you with holes for some years on end , I think that's whats happening now. He hit on Short/Star, but he certainly flunked out the 3x cbs in 2016 , and its yet to be seen if drafting both McCaffrey/Samuel was really worth it, I know there was still a lot of defensive back talent on the board when Samuel was selected.
