Our fanbase is the most flip floppy ever. We win we think we are super bowl bound. We lose you'd think we were 0-15. smh

To be fair, I think we're the latter all the time because Rivera, Shula, Dorsey, Jerry Richardson, and now, once again, Marty Hurney.

I looked at the schedule and to me Panthers pretty much have to win out just to make playoffs not worried about division. If we finish in three way tie with falcons and saints we are out. If we finish in three way tie with Falcons and Seahawks we are out. So not looking good. Wish falcons would have lost last night!!!

And I sure as hell don't see them losing to the jets

The Jets nearly beat both us AND the Falcons. Do not underestimate them

How do we win the division when the Saints swept us?  We only have a shot at a Wildcard.

Because we are only a half game behind the Saints with 4 of our own games left to play. If they lose one more game and we win out, we win the division. Simple math bruh

Panthers are too inconsistent. No one can say which panthers team is going to show up this week or any given week. Saints fans know their offense is going to show up every week. We need consistency to go anywhere near the superbowl.

Yea I made this post in another thread. If the Panthers actually show up they will win but they hardly ever show up and play to their potential.

Im usually overly optimistic about this team but that felt like our nail in the coffin. Seattle is pretty hot right now and so it looks like that last spot is gonna come down to Week 17 in Atlanta and unfortunately the Falcons arent the shitshow they were in 2014

Seattle also faces the Jags, the Rams (I still can't believe that's a tough schedule!!), and the cowgirls (with Elliot?) in the next 3 weeks. I can easily see them ending up 9-7 this season.

I don't understand this. Even if we have a better record, they're still better than us in the division since they swept us. How do we suddenly become #1?

The team that has the best record wins the division. This might not reflect the fact that the division winner is better than all the other teams, but its just the rules that the team with the better record is ranked higher than the team with the worse record and would be the division winner in that instance.

I mean imagine a senario where the Saints swept us but loss all the rest of their games . We'd have a much better record overall and still be the division winners over them.

If that ended up happening probably alot of people would put an * next to it , because we got swept by the Saints.

In NFL the division leaders aren't purely determined by division wins/losses. Its overall wins/losses, the division W/L and the conference W/L only come into play in tie breaker situations. Like for example if the Falcons win out and we win 3/4 but lose the last game to the Falcons, we'd both be tied at 11-5 but the Falcons would be ranked higher than us because they have a better NFC W/L record than we do.
