At Bojangles for the First Time, Right Now

I don’t know if it’s just I’m older, or if Bojangles has gotten worse over the years.

15-20 years ago Bojangles was good. Chicken was fried, but didn’t seem like it was lathered and bathed in just frying oil when you opened the box. The chicken supremes seemed better/bigger.

It could be nostalgia, or myself being older and can’t handle the geese, but Bojangles has gotten shitty. It seems once they became a publicly traded company it has gone down hill.

I think once a company goes public, and is beholden to shareholders, Payroll is one of the first things they look to gut in order to cut costs, and this inevitably cuts quality as shifts get thrown out of wack, the hardest workers get overworked and they back fill with warm bodies rather than good employees.

As far as menu selection, I would get the Cajun Filet and seasoned fries every visit for years. However nowadays, the filet is rubbery or undercooked just as often as it is just right. The fries are either molten hot with no seasoning, or cold and tough. I've had more luck with a sausage biscuit with egg and Botato Rounds lately. Harder to eff up I think.

This isn't just them, there is an issue throughout the poultry industry.

I could go into detail, but it would likely make many on here stop eating chicken...

Either way, it will likely be another year or two before it's phased out.

There is a reason for this, what I just posted above is the main reason.

Not just you. It did change. Employee moral is way down. Can't tell if they care. Burnt food a couple times. Called customer feedback, they apologize, said they're sending coupons, never got em'.

Whoever is running the franchise now is dropping the ball big time.

I still Bo though. How long, I don't know. They need a change in management up top because these problems aren't just in one location or one state.

I'm a big fan of their fried chicken, if you are at a good location..the one by my house does a good job.

Also, if under 30, and super hungover, I recommend the cajun filet biscuit, add egg and cheese.  It's divine, but will put you on the toilet, then in the grave...only to be consumed in the worst of circumstances.

Yep, location is key and it’s not just for bojangles. Ultimately, it depending on the employees who works at said location. Some locations the employees just don’t give a fug, and you can tell in the food. You’ve got supremes or nuggets that taste like they’ve been fried in a bad batch or expired oil, chicken over cooked or undercooked, etc. It’s hard to find a good chicken sandwich at any fast food spot, now a days.

I used to love the chicken sandwiches at McDonald’s. Seems like I haven’t had a good one in a few years, no matter the location.

and yet, I can't get fresh White Castles in NC.

Harold and Kumar lead me to believe that those little burgers were the choice of the gods and it would be a completely awe inspiring experience when I finally tasted one.

Went up to NY a few years back for comic con. Found a random white castle, decided it was destiny.

Those burgers are completely poo and I hate them.

Made the movie that much funnier though. They had to have been baked to crave that poo.

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
