Sons First Game

Devil Doc

Recommended Posts

So... a Coworker has season tickets to the Panthers, she cannot go, and if her Cousin does not want them. They are mine. This will be my sons first Panthers game, he is 5. However, the temperature for Sunday is Cold. Like 33-38 Degree Cold. Is he too young to go, if it is that cold? Hopefully, I will know by tomorrow if I can go.

Bundle that little guy up and has something that keeps him warm with good winter outfit and bring couple blankets just in case and maybe portable heater. But question is how long will his attention stay on game until he decides to want to roam the stadium. What would be cool is if he was handed a game ball from Cam. Just make sure to see if you think he would be able to handle a long period in one spot in the chilly air and not end up sick.

That's why we have winter gear, man. All he needs is a pair or two of thick socks,  boots,  gloves/mittens, LCDs (long cotton draws) or thermal underwear, a lined winter coat, scarf if necessary,  and top it all off with a Panthers toboggan.

Take a thermos of hot chocolate as well.

My first game was at Veteran's Stadium when I was around that age (five or six). Philly ain't exactly warm in the fall.

Doc was right though on if the little guy gets sick easily especially when they are that age but there are always precautions to take to ensure he don't get sick just like you mentioned.

Depends on the kid IMO.

my 6 year old won't sit through a game in ideal conditions.  Let alone the cold.  If he has the attention span and will watch dress him like you are at Green Bay despite being in Charlotte.  You can always unpeel him.

That is my only fear, he gets sick fairly easy. I would hate to miss the game because he cannot stand the weather very long. Unfortunately, the tickets are in the Upper Bowl, so no game balls from Cam.

The temp isnt going to get him sick.

Make sure to go early so you can both get some liquor jacket action.

Kidding. Maybe a towel or something for him to sit on, if you plan on sitting; I imagine the seat will probably be the worst part. Double up on socks maybe?

Edit: scratch that. real fans don't sit and if you do see anyone sitting, make sure to sucker punch them.

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
