Hello From a Vikings Fan

Hey Board,

Just wanted to say hello and best wishes. Hoping for a clean, safe game on Sunday. Not here to talk too much trash, just that I hope we beat you guys but I can see the game going either way. When Cam is on, he's unbeatable. Truthfully, Vikes have been solid but not dominant in most of our wins this season. If a Vikings fan guarantee that we win any game, you should ignore them.

Anyone care to give me some insight into your team this season. How has the Dline responded to the suspension of one of its best? Is Luke and Davis playing up to snuff? Have you guys finally replace Norman (I know some of your young guys looked promising last season)?

CJ hasn’t been one of our best for quite some time. But can’t ignore that the Saints ran at will all over us. Not sure the two equate or if that was going to happen with CJ in the rotation or not.

Good luck to you guys. Hope Cam is on fire and we make a game out of it this Sunday.

Charles Johnson is not one of the best, in fact he's not even one of the worst. Of everyone in our DL rotation, he's THE worst.

They didn't really run at will on us outside of Ingram's one big run. And we've been gashed in the run game before this year to a degree. The Aints are the best running team in football right now, losing CJ wasn't a factor at all.

first off thanks for beating atlanta

Our dline has been disappointing. Great in spurts but no consistency in creating pressure.  They also have given up more rush yards than we are used too. When we are on, we are superbowl worthy.  You can count on one hand the number of tackles Charles Johnson had this year.

Luke is amazing, TD is on the decline still a dynamic duo.

Secondary is vastly improved but still has a ways to go.

He did what he's done all year. Outside of Ingram's one run he rushed 13 times for 13 yards. Even with Kamara's runs, average that out and it is not at all running at will against us. It was a solid rushing performance from them but nothing special that CJ would've changed.

CJ is not one of our Dline’s best. That goes to KK, Star and maybe even Addison at this point. CJ is a vet though and knows what he’s doing, this can diagnose and set the edge so others can capitalize. Luke is playing as good as he always has and is one of the best, despite a less than elite showing last week, he was still playing well above average. TD seems to thrive when he is in with Luke and plays well but not like years prior. Norman was ‘replaced’ by Bradberry and Worley. Worley is still an unknown due to age but isn’t doing so hot according to his play. Bradberry is doing well/solid at this point but  seems to have a high cieling and potential if he keeps at it . I personally don’t see a ‘shut down corner’ potential but I do see a #1 starting, above average CB potential on a team with a decent Dline.

Honestly, our issues are on the offensive side of the ball. Not to say our defense doesn’t need tweaking but the offense is run by a below average OC and poor game/coach management all around. Add in the fact our WRs have been dropping everything, our RB is done but our HC keeps giving it to him due to favoritism and I’m pretty sure our LT is the most penalized oline man in the NFL (really) and sucks anyways, that’s where our issues are.

I hope for a good game and know we match up well. Also not sure if you’re in Minnie but I lived there and thank god that new stadium was built my balls literally came close to freezing and falling off.

    • I always get lectured every year when we inevitably win some meaningless late season games to tank our draft position that we're building culture and you always have to try to win no matter what. This is why that's bullshit. Once you're out of contention it's to your competitive advantage to LOSE.
    • You’re tripping I hear what you’re saying but you’re not thinking of the benefits that trade gives us. We can then move around in the second round or late in the first to grab a specific player we covet like M Starks late in the 1st. Let me clarify if we’re at 21 we grab W Nolen or K Grant then trade up late in the 1 or early in the second giving up next years second for M Starks or T Amos there so much that can happen with that additional ammo.  Allowing us still so much leverage in next years draft as well with two first rounders we’d be dam crazy not to take a trade like that it’s not the big haul or heavy amount of picks we’re hoping for but it’s gets us multiple players especially ones we’ve seemed to taken a liking to like Nolen etc along with the safety from SC. or even a Luther B or James P early in the second. This nice influx in talent would help way more than a player like Jalon W. because of his high bust rate or probability  to bust….you know what I mean.  We need players we all know that those extra picks allow us to give up something this year to add key pieces from the 29-40 range that we may really like and have a need for (T Amos) and it not hurt as much because we’re stacked in round one of 26. Which could also be a pick one trade one scenario next year giving us more ammo to manipulate the draft to a winning situation for us long term. Al that to say we desperately need to be actively seeking a trade because we could add real talent in multiple spots this year and next with that current trade your opposing.
    • According to their list, the top guy hasn't put out a mock yet and the 2nd guy has us trading to 4 for Carter.
