What frustrates me about the offense ~

• Cam taking a sack instead of just throwing the ball away.
• Center/(team not coached?) hiking the ball when there is encroachment and taking a free play.
• Cam holding on too long.

Cam holding on too long - I will admit I am at a loss.  He is holding on going thru his reads and no one is open right?  Our WR are not getting separation.  Is it because our WR are all number 3's and worse - or is it because our plays aren't putting them in winning situations?  

Going further down the rabbit hole - Cam holds the ball forever and our much maligned Oline has to hold.  We scream at Kalil who only has the task of keeping Cam Jordan away the whole game....but how much help is our QB giving him and the rest of the line?

Shula - I guess there is no point in beating a dead horse but dang golly I get so mad at seeing no adjustments like EVER coming out of halftime not to mention a game plan that doesn't... attack?  I know player execution is critical but I wish sometimes I was the owner so i could have Rivera tell me exactly why he loves Shula so much.

he had the ball out fast, and was really accurate.

Of everything that went wrong on Sunday I don't see how Cam's play was even close to the issue. He looked very sharp, accurate, and controlled to me(yes should have thrown away that one pass instead of taking the sack but that's kind of nitpicking).  He was holding the ball because he was having to go to his 3rd and 4th read to find someone open. If Sheppard could catch (and Funchess on that 3rd down drop in the red zone) and Kalil could block instead of getting beat like a drum we had a chance even with our defense forgetting how to tackle, the 2 special teams blunders , and Peppers being uncharacteristically stupid on that penalty. Main problem was Rivera kept playing to his defense even after they were getting drug. Didn't give Cam a shot to score that last drive before halftime...as bad as the defense was playing that was stupid after they actually got a 2nd stop in a row...we had the momentum. We waited way too long to go uptempo and put the game in Cam's hands and turn him loose. He's better in the hurryup and he's by far our best player on offense. Our only chance to make noise this year is to just turn his ass loose and let him be Superman. They're trying to drive a ferrari like a1947 ford truck. Hopefully Olsen injects some life into the receiving corp

Gotta love the idiots that spew the same “cam’s holding onto the ball too long” bs all the time without having a hot clue as to what’s going on downfield.

You must also HATE when Cam turns a broken play into a first down with his legs on a 3rd and long right?

Yeah I don't even get how someone can watch that game and think he was the problem. If he forces the ball out in 2 secs and his targets not open...that's how turnovers happen. He protected the ball and was accurate. The only reason we had a shot yesterday at a come back was Cam. It's ridiculous

Most of you are dwelling on the same old poo. I thought things were fine on offense, not great, not terrible, but good enough. Shula being Shula in games that matter definitely reared its head. Bullshit cost us this game. We match up better with the Vikings. Still saying we finish off 2-2, and of course some how the shitbirds will win Thursday. I don't care about the division right now, we just need in the playoffs and hopefully someone else can end the Katrinas.

I said Cam holds on to the ball based on watching him and listening to the announcers (not always 100%).  Being called an idiot though I decided to look at the stats.

This website puts Cam as having a 2.68 time to throw.  Same as Alex Smith and Tom Brady.  23 QB in the league are faster.  I know what is going on downfield - our WR are running their routes and trying to get open.

“And trying to get open” So when no one is open, which happens a lot with this bunch you would rather just see Cam throw it away? 

If Cam conceded the down every time a play broke down or no one was open I’m not sure we’d ever score on offense. 

At the end of the day Cam is a playmaker and yes, it doesn’t always look pretty but it’s something you look at and go “I’ll take the good with the bad”. Because the good outweighs the bad and it’s not even close.

Cam Newton has 6 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs, zero interceptions, zero fumbles in his last 4 games.

What do some people get out of that?

Haha well I'm 40 but yeah I've been on or around this site long enough to know what's going to get said....still makes me shake my head though...people want him to get the ball out as fast Brady or Alex Smith when those offenses are designed that way and have the personnel for that. Apples and oranges. But of course somebody will accuse me of thinking Cam's perfect or can do no wrong in about 3...2...1...
