If John Morton can make the Jets mediocre with the crap stew they have Shula could at least do half that with a generational QB at the helm.

Kearse and Anderson are far from crap stew, do you see the catches those guys are making week to week? Who on this current roster is going to make the catch anderson made agaisnt us ?

That's the problem with posters on here you'd think they'd need Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, and Odell Beckham to do anything offensively. Guess what that kind of team doesn't exist and we got to the dang SB with crap WR too. The system is bad and needs to be thrown out.

First off julio aint even beinf used correctly this year in atl, Ny giants offense is ass soup without odell and brown is brown, bad examples and im pretty damn sure wr’s playing like garbage was a big reason we lost the superbowl....

That would be the Oline and again Shula had no answer for the green dog blitz and never made adjustments for anything Denver threw at us.

Listen I understand the shula criticism but expecting a top 5-10 offesne with this wr core and oline is craziness. Talent issue at wr and ot is what’s holding this offense back more then playcalling

I have to agree. Almost no talent there.

For the TLDR ppl -> It’s all about coaching and roster management as long as JR doesn’t meddle

Sorry, but this is not college, and not the NFL from a couple of decades ago. Talent helps, but it doesn’t win championships in the pros.

It is all about coaching and commitment from the players. If the players are not sold on your system, then you are not winning anytime soon, and probably will last 3-4 years as a coach if you are lucky.

Like many here, I think Shula has no business being a coordinator in this league. But even if you are a wizard with the Xs and Os, it doesn’t mean crap is you are not communicating with the players. If they are not executing, it’s still on the coach whether it’s Mike Martz or Mike Shula. If they are still not giving it 100% for some reason, it is still up to coaches to nip that in the bud.

Patriots teams that won 5 Super Bowls come to mind. They were not the most talented team in the league in all 5 of their SBs. They had no star wide receivers, some of them had no running game, some had shaky o-lines etc... Heck they had no stars. Brady was not a star for their 1st 3 Super Bowls. Payton Manning was the league’s darling in their 1st 3 Super Bowls, but the Patriots always whooped him in the playoffs. Brady’s numbers didn’t become crazy good until after the 3rd super bowl.

The difference is that they had a coach that did not fugg around. They did not hesitate to get rid of star players (and they canned many). They canned stars like Terry Glenn (RIP), but then won with people like LaFell.

I tought we were going in the right direction with Gettleman. It was all about the team, and he was not afraid to be bad cop for the betterment of the team. But I guess some feelings were hurt (allegedly) and you know the rest.

This may be a case of too many chefs in the kitchen for us. You got an owner that undermines what you are doing, you have some veterans that are untouchable by the coaches or GMs(allegedly). I just hope JR starts delegating and let’s his staff do the job he hired them to do.

I think Shula comes up with some great plays, the issue is, there is no in between for him.     It's either a grey play, or a TERRIBLE play.     He's boom or bust and it's usually bust.     This has always been the issue.   We need more 4-6 yard plays but with Shula it's either 2 yards or 9 and mostly 2, especially before third down.

Right, the problem with Shula is he doesn't even attempt make the most out of our personnel (except for designed runs by Cam when nothing else is working) and calls plays with seemingly no awareness of what the defense is doing. Rivera isn't kidding when he says "we do what we do"... we do it regardless of what the defense is doing to our own demise. Cam's singular talent is the only thing that makes our offense work.

Yup our coaches should have seen the green dog blitz coming from a mile with all the extra guys we used in protection, but we were seemingly caught off guard and unable to adjust. We just kept dialing up slow developing plays with deep drops by Cam while Von had his way with Remmers.

you’d need two reliable wide receivers with elite speed and all pro stud roadgraders from tackle to tackle for this offense to be consistent

if you can find a gm that can actually pull off bringing in that amount of talent (probably strategically impossible due to this little issue in the league of the fact that there are 31 other teams you’re competing with for bringing in talent) then i’ll be convinced that shula should stay.

Pick these players ??? Tf cmc, funchess and olsen are the only guys who any other team would pick, I could care less if shula stays or go but we’ll run into the same issues with a new oc, new oc isnt going to magically make matt kalil a better player or wr not named funchess catch the ball. Like I said absurd to expect cam to be a pocket passer with ass for a wr core, anyone not named olsen or funchess wouldnt even get picked up by another team but we’re expecting the offense to put up NE and Pits numbers ?????

Are you saying that these coaches dont help evaluate the talent they want brought in to play on their squad. Yes pick these players? Shula rivera wilks helped pick and helped retain these players who seem to not be what they need to run their scheme.. what the hell are they evaluating in the game and in off season...Bersin keeps hanging around yet no one else wants him, bryd 3yrs, funchess 2yrs. Shepard game tape what did they see what did they see in offseason..i saw nothing and nothing is what he has produced. Everything has a base where things are created from. You what players you want and build around your players or you build around a scheme..we seem to do both which is not working ..therefore round hole square peg fits.... Your talking about talent and players ..i am asking you who helped pick these players, if they would not have co signed on the player they wouldnt be on the team.

you may have a point if this issue didn't occur on defense as well, so that leads me to the head coach making these decisions, and who's picking these players? that would be DG before he was let go. Honestly can't say i believe shula has much authority in deciding game day personnel, i could be dead wrong also. I'm saying i've seen fair share of bad play calling mixed with good play calling that ends in not be executed properly, but ultimately it's been due to a under-performing wr core that has been the issue since cam was drafted, followed by the in ability to replace gross, if you think a new oc is able to make this current roster top ten on offense that's fine i;m eager to see, but i guarantee he gets a hc gig the following year if he pulls that off with the current talent.
