I notice a "fans" praising the Giants

An ownership group that doesn't tolerate mediocrity, what a novel thought

This is a depressingly common example of the "I'd rather see the Panthers lose" phenomenon I discussed in my post yesterday, this idea that:

A: Every organization is better than ours

and

B: The Panthers are mediocre

Let's compare our records over the last five years (including this year):

Panthers: 48-27-1, three division titles, one Super Bowl appearance
Giants: 32-44, no division titles, one playoff appearance

The latter is what true mediocrity looks like.

Ironically, the two successful years the Giants have had in recent memory (2007 and 2011) were in regular seasons where they snuck into the playoffs and managed to win as underdogs. Imagine if Mara had fired their coach in 2011 after their four-game skid that got them to 6-6, or with two weeks left where they were 7-7?

This is exactly what the "fans" that want us to lose would like to see, going into a month that is historically our best and when we are basically set to make the playoffs if we win two or three games.

Our motto is "Keep Pounding", not "give up". Let's Keep Pounding for a strong finish.

The Giants have two superbowls in ten years. We have participation trophies. They are on their way to getting the best GM we ever had

The Giants should have fired their coach in 2011 when they were 6-6 with your logic. Can't tolerate mediocrity!
