Our enemies now are the Falcons, Packers, and even the Lions

I'd rather them not make it than go in and look like a bunch of buffoons...........This team has embarrassed the fan base enough over the years.

Easily, but I don't live or die with a worthless sports franchise. It's much more fun when you don't really care and that is where this POS franchise has driven so many.

Call me crazy, but I am not giving up on the Div yet. If we beat Minn and NO  loses to ATL, which is very possible,  we are right back in the mix. I know we would likely have to win out, but stranger things have happened. At least we know that either NO or ATL will have another loss on Thursday, and then they play again in a few weeks.

I’m pulling for the Falcons too.  The goal is the ring, and 4 straight road games (week 17 and 3 playoff games) is a huge task-the division is still very possible so have to pull for that until it’s not possible.

I think it’s time to pull for a WC. The likelihood of NO dropping two while we win it is very slim. But you guys are right. Can you imagine playing in Atlanta, then cross the country to LA, then clear to Minnesota, and then up to Philly? We will be so gassed if that happens.

Never in NFL History has a team had to play on the road in week 17, won 3 straight road playoff games, and won the Super Bowl.

like winning out and everyone else collapsing in 2014 so that we won the division with a losing record of 7-8-1...

i still believe in this team. I hold no hope of a high seed, but i have not given up on the division crown just yet. Anyone who says we wont make the playoffs is a fuging idiot. anyone who says they dont want us to make the playoffs is the epitome of idiocy. anything can happen if you just make the dance. 2007 Giants saying hello.

ha ha ha.... but you do care... otherwise you wouldn't take time out of your day to post something negative, and then react and respond to our reply.  Since you care, does that mean you are not having fun?

Also, what is the in -between of live and die?

Image result for are we having fun yet

Right now if the playoff seeding ended  after the Eagles vs Seahawks game last night, we would be the #6 seed in the NFC scheduled to play the Rams in LA for the wild card round.

If we won that game, we'd have to play the divisional at the Eagles or at the Vikings. And then the championship game at the Eagles, Vikings, or Saints most likely.

Current NFC seeding:

Vikings #1 seed (So our next game is even bigger than the one we just played)

Eagles #2 seed

Rams #3 seed

Saints #4 seed

Seahawks #5 seed

Panthers #6 seed

The good thing is , we're currently pretty solidly in the #6 seed spot. The next few teams below us are Falcons (7-5) , Lions (6-6) , Packers (6-6) , and Cowboys (6-6) . We already have the winning tiebreaker vs Falcons and Lions, but we need to take care of business against the Packers and the last Falcons game to hang on to that #6 seed.

God only knows what we'd do in the playoffs. After the last 2 games there's not much about this team that I trust, and I especially don't trust the defense against good offenses which is a killer, and our WRs get bodied and have a tendency to drop passes and not get open when DBs get physical and chippy with them.

Perhaps with great coaching we'd be able to make a suprisingly deep playoff run, but we dont have that. Combine subpar coaching , unmotivated mistake prone sub par players,  its not a good mix. If everything goes perfectly theres a chance to make a run but its small and shouldn't be counted on imo. But I'd gladly eat the crow if we did somehow start playing much better, coaching improved , and we made a run. Right now I'm predicting a loss vs Rams or Saints in the wild card round.

    • I'd give it a C mainly because of Brooks.  If we just didn't have a 2nd I'd argue B to B+ tbh. Brooks was a bad gamble, tho one that could still pay off long term. Yes XL only has 400 yards but... Look who is throwing him the ball. And I think he isn't a "true #1" but he's been able to consistently get open. Hands definitely need to be cleaned up.  But he should end the year with 500-600 yards. Like you said - Sanders looks great.  Get him a better QB / more time with a QB and I think he's gonna impress. We added a couple rotational players on D that have both made plays and show promise for the future from later rounds. So I'd say, Brooks really hurts this drafts grade. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses over the next 3 years. I've overall really liked Morgan's FA acquisitions, so...
    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
