this is Carolina.   We probably would just let Cam walk out the door.

I got nothing....Huddle geniuses would have it as a steal to get that 3rd comp I bet too.

The fact that we got something for KB should provide hope but we all know better, not gonna fool myself here.

cant argue too much with this. Gettleman kinda mangled our secondary and never fixed it.  And our Dline is getting old fast

We need a young pass rushers and a young safety ready to start in this next draft for next year. We have to many young WR and not 1 vet WR who has been a threat in this league.. I would add youth to the defense and give Cam a exp. Weapon in the pass game..

Do you think Carolina will be viewed as an attractive destination for a FA wide receiver going into the 2018 season?

Since Gross retired, the Panthers have drafted:
WR, LB, DT, RB

Time to finally right the ship and find that cornerstone left tackle.

Cornerstone, plug and play LT’s don’t slide to the 20’s.  Ever.

While I would tend to agree with that premise, the evidence doesn't support that conclusion.

Per PFF top 10 Left Tackles heading into 2017, the top 10 are:
(with the draft round and overall)

1. Joe Thomas (1/3)
2. Tyrone Smith (1/9)
3. Trent Smith (1/4)
4. Andrew Whithworth (2/55)
5. Jack Conklin (1/8)
6. David Baktiari (4/109)
7. Marcus Gilbert (2/63)
8. Mitchell Schwartz (2/37)
9. Donald Penn (UDFA)
10. Tayloe Lewan (1/11)

Removing Donald Penn out of the equation since I can't quantify UDFA, the average draft position for the top 10 OT's was 33.22.

5 were chosen in the top 11 overall
3 were chosen in the 2nd round
1 was chosen in the 4th round
1 was undrafted

So you would trust a rookie that 20+ teams passed on to protect Cam’s blindside from day 1 in what will TRULY be a Super Bowl or bust year?  Not me.

Those aren’t all LTs. Conklin, Gilbert and Schwartz are RTs. Who’s the last good LT that lasted past pick 20. Heck...15?

Nah you're right, we should go with the likes of Byron Bell and The shitty Kalil.
