A message to the burn it down brigade

The same fugging morons who made me post this are now pointing to the Giants - a team that is 30-51 from 2013 on with no division titles and one playoff appearance - as a team with superior owners.

You. Want. To. Lose.

Even though we lost, my optimism for the team has actually increased.

im genuinely curious for the thoughts behind that sentiment.

Playoff appearances in four of five years, three straight division titles in the best division in football, a Super Bowl appearance and a 64% win percentage is not "mediocre".

to be fair, it was not the best division in football when we won three straight. it wasnt even a good division except for 2013. and we won in 2014 with a losing record. A losing record.

At this point, we've still won twice as many games as we have lost. Two losses to a Saints team that is on fire, a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles who are also skyrocketing, and a loss to the Bears who happened to be playing at the location where our team just lost its poo for the day.

The NFC South is the most competitive division in the NFL right now and we're still in contention.

We aren't the historically hapless Browns, we aren't the cratering Bengals, the gelded Broncos, the shipwrecked Dolphins. We haven't had our star QB and star DL player knocked out like the Texans. We didn't just fire our 2-10 coach or see Jimmy Garropolo get us 5 field goals for our draft picks and our first born son.

We also haven't seen a winning streak turn into a nightmare series of losses like the once hot Chiefs. We haven't been exposed like the Cowboys or see our franchise QB derp his way out of leadership of his team like Jameis Winston and the Bucs.

Geez, we're the Carolina Panthers, we're winning games ugly and that's how this season is rolling. Four games left in the regular season and we can win all of them.

Honestly, I am tired of our current coaching philosophy.

I, at a bare minimum, want a new OC.  I am so tired of taking the full play-clock to run an offensive play, even when we trail by 14 points.  I am tired of a team that would rather take a knee going into the half than try to put points on the board.  I want a team that comes after the punt block when we have them pinned inside the 5 yard line.  I want a team that occasionally runs a trick punt play, or occasionally goes up-tempo to throw a defense off.  I want a coach that understands we have a mobile QB and designs WR route trees and roll-outs to take advantage of this.

Does this make me any less of a Panther fan?  I am not happy with the direction of the team and want to evolve.  I have followed and cheered for this team since day 1 and will not stop regardless.  I made it through 1-15.

This really sums up how I feel.  Although I'd like to add that I'm tired of seeing this team play it safe in free agency and going after aging "veteran" players that were never that good in the first place. For once, I'd like to see this team take full advantage of our once in a generation talent at QB.

Is it too much to ask to get a few "proven" weapons on the offensive side of the ball? Shula needs players that can just flat out beat their defender, because his route combinations rarely puts them in position to run free. Pass plays are like 3 or 4 individual routes, instead of one scheme that pressures the defense into making a mistake.

And I still think that Desean Jackson would have been worth any of the defensive players the team would have had to sacrifice to get him in Carolina. He strikes fear in defensive coordinators whenever he's on the field. His presence alone would open up opportunities for every one else on the offense.

The team tries so hard to be this ball controlling offense and smash mouth defensive unit. And Luke gives them a very good reason to focus on that side of the ball. But, damn we can't forget about the baddest mofo on the field. With all his inconsistencies, Cam is who they should have hung their hats on from the moment he was drafted.

Or even one, but clown shoes man is hilarious. Panthers been slightly better over the last 5 years but 0 rings to show for it yet that is supposed to beat out for the 2 SBs they've had this decade....pahhahahaah. This place always great for a laugh.

I think I can speak for all of us who have been fans for longer than 10 years when I say YES we love losing and not ever seeing consecutive winning seasons... I’m actually hoping we DONT have a winning season this year because that means we are losing next year

Me too man it's also a shame Hurney couldn't pull that trade off for Clausen. I'd much rather have done that than draft Cam.

Was very pleased with the AE trade up too...worth the #33rd through and through. Hell this dood caught like 1 whole pass in the Canadian championship game and got himself a chip. Much rather have a 3rd string DT too instead of Hunter Henry...couldn't use a TE right now anyway though.

If the only changes made are to the coaching staff, that means Marty Hurney is still GM?

You up for that?

Im tired of watching Cam do everything ..im tired of watching Luke do everything..the game we could have won.. stew should have limited carries especially when he hurt his ankle.. fozzy needs to stop bringing ball out of the endzone... matt is ok but we need someone that has a bad as attutude on the line .thoyght it was Norwell but he has been missing in action this yr...Wr suck they can not catch..byrd needs to be the guy on those go routes instead of funchess... yes Ron miss opportunites but your playcalling and play designs, personel leaves much to be desired.. Only person on offense that seem ro care was Cam bersin byrd and CMC...Cap needs playing time what the hell are we keeping him on the squad for if he isnt playing anytime at Rb..I was glad that we drafted him bc I knew he food be good..but damn i wish now he go somewhere else him, byrd, and Cam...bc  you and Shula have limitted all their abilities..
