I don't know if he's a yes man so much as just somebody that Rivera is comfortable with.

Anybody who's spent significant time in management or leadership has probably encountered two types of people: someone they really liked who wasn't very good at their job, and someone they couldn't stand who excelled at it.

When you're in that position, you have to decide what's more important: the success of your organization or the atmosphere of your work group.

Keep person number one and you probably won't enjoy your job as much, but you'll be more successful.

Choose number two and you'll enjoy greater workplace harmony, at the cost of having sacrificed organizational success.

It's a sad reality that a lot of the NFL's most successful people are total dicks.

Rivera is as nice a guy as you could ever find, which is why it sucks that he isn't better at his job.

that hit me in the feels .. so true about this team and just life in general

Nope. This is Gettleman's roster. Nothing is "blown up". Closest we got is trading KB, which the Huddle had a typical rage fest ever but has pretty much been proven a good move as of now.

That's because you're not looking long-term. The day Gettleman was fired, the direction this organization was going got blown up. Love him or hate him, that much is true.

You just can't settle for mediocrity. As a sales manager more than once I've sat good people down and basically told them they're not cut out for the job. Let's get your resume in order and figure out what you want to do and where your skills fit because this isn't it. I'm not going to put you in the unemployment line as long as your attitude stays good and I can see that you're working on trying to find something else, but this isn't a long term option for you.

Honestly, all but once they appreciated it. They already knew it wasn't the right fit for them and were just complacent because it was a check to keep the bills paid. That's not what I'm looking for.

If you own the company, you can.

The guy who owns our "company" has demonstrated pretty clearly which employee he prefers.

Hence, why we are where we are.

I don't blame Rivera. JR is the problem. loser money is still pretty nice,,,

I'm sorry but Ron takes a lot of blame. Sticking with Shula has been the biggest thorn in our sides since the SB. His management of football games are terrible. His conservative style of coaching is out-dated.  His personnel decisions are terrible until his job or season is on the line. His inability to go the general manager and say this isn't working or this will work is non-existent. I'll take a HC all day everyday that'll check his general manager. Gettleman got to walk around like he was God gift to the Panthers because Ron was a loser before he got here and thought any decision he made was the best when it wasn't. JR got rid of him, but took a step back letting Hurney stay until the draft? Wtf... and I bet he won't fire any coaches or put the pressure for it to happen. 1 step forward, 2 steps back

Fans of this team aren't losers for wanting a winning team. This franchise has never had back to back winning seasons. It's been 20 fugging years and if me being pissed off at a coaching staff that lays down every time when it matters most, then so be it. Clean the fugging house. It's not like we're expecting a winning record next year anyway.

JR is the real problem, but, at the end of the year if The Panthers see a profit, do you think he cares if we win or lose?

If that's the case why fire Gettleman? Was the firing of Gettleman a decision for business? The Panthers were going to see a profit with him. I think JR needs to do a better job of decision making.

Gross, Beason, D.Will, Steve Smith and Norman next, then our secondary plummet and we miss the playoffs. It was way too many players and too public. You can tell the way it happened caught everyone off-guard which means its been a long build-up.

Whatever what's done is done. Now the future. Hurney isn't the future. So why is he here? poo like that is why I blame JR.

For the same reason he ended up parting ways with Bill Polian. Both cared more about winning than preserving people's feelings.

To put it simply, Polian and Gettleman did business like Northerners. Richardson wants things run like a Southern family business.

That's not really a bad thing, if you're actually running a Southern family business. If you're running a multimillion-dollar NFL franchise, well...

right. And yet we want to blame Cam. Can you imagine Cam with Belicheck? or hell even Andy Reid? No, this all comes down to an old fashion (and I love old fashion, but I'm not in charge of a multi-million corporation that doesn't care as along as the the profits are up)....

what were we talking about?

Championship teams start from the top to the bottom is really the point

You are all lucky to not have a family that is broken into 3 teams(fans)1 my son is a Pats fan, Myself Panthers fan, my daughter Falcons fan. I am really disappointed having things like this happen to my Panthers but since first SB against Pats I was not happy but through the years I started to appreciate my Panthers for what they have done even if they lost games I will remain loyal to them till end of time. When Falcons lost SB my daughter went on a rant of tears and cursing because of it and just would not let it rest for a month and that is her way of loyalty to her Falcons and their disappointed seasons of losing games. Always stay true to our cats and be proud of what they have accomplished since conception into league. "KEEP POUNDING"
