A message to the burn it down brigade

Jesus fugging Christ.

Y'all are losers. You like losing. It makes you feel vindicated to see failures you "predicted" rather than see us succeed. So you're fine blowing up a team that is 48-27 in the last five years, with playoff appearances in three of the last four (likely to be four of the last five) seasons to go through extended mediocrity while our two stars are in their prime, just to feel like you were right.

You're entitled, narcissistic and utterly devoid of logic to the point you look at an 8-4 team set to likely make the playoffs, with an exciting rookie, two all-league players on offense and defense, and the return of our most reliable target and say "fug it, let's tank". You're content to cede our division to New Orleans or Atlanta or, god-forbid Tampa, to demand a moronic rebuilding that isn't needed.

You want to commit team suicide to prove a point, because y
ou like losing. It's what you're comfortable with. Easier to whine and b*tch while losing than look at success in the face. You stand back and worship your fallen idol general manager and want the team to tank to prove you were right... meanwhile real fans want our team to win, and win now. And we see a team that has won twice as many games as we've lost and has our playoff fate in our hands - the hands of a team that's been the playoffs in three of the last four seasons.

You're pathetic, and we deserve better fans. Grow up.

If you're ready to leave after one loss, go ahead. The door's right ahead. Don't let it hit your ass on the way out, and don't try and come back in the playoffs. We don't need you, and this team doesn't need you.

What can I say, a lot of Panthers fans have become so accustomed to mediocrity that they no longer accept it but actually go on crazy rants because they can't understand why everyone else isn't thrilled with it.

The real irony is that we DID blow everything up when we fired Gettleman. Not from a coaching staff standpoint obviously, UT absolutely from an organizational direction standpoint which is every bit as impact full as a staff change up.

Playoff appearances in four of five years, three straight division titles in the best division in football, a Super Bowl appearance and a 64% win percentage is not "mediocre".

My message is this

The Saints haven't been to the playoffs since 2013 season

We have something we can clearly IMPROVE on. We're not in rebuild mode.

This. Fire Shula and get a real OC. Ron has to stop being so comfortable with continuity. The "evolution" has been the failure that virtually everyone thought it would be. Sign a legit veteran WR to compliment Funchess. Figure out LT. Go ahead and give Moton a crack at it right now. Find out if he can be the answer. Kalil ain't it. Draft or sign a young safety that can RUN.

Way too many fans are hanging their hats on these playoff appearances while ignoring the fact that our record was MEDIOCRE and we only went to the playoffs because our division was pathetic. 15-1 will really skew that overall winning percentage. Right now everyone has to be admitting that 15-1 feels like a fluke.

We need to seriously dive into free agency. I'm not seeing enough play-makers on this team particularly on the defense side of the ball. 2015 we had that. 11 takeaways, ranked at the bottom of league isn't cutting it.

It wasn't a fluke. We legitimately had a great season, a historic one.

But then we got to the biggest game of the year, and our coaches weren't up to the task. Bronco players came away flabbergasted that we didn't do anything they hadn't already seen.

Other teams figured out how to beat our system, and our leaders weren't smart enough to counter.

It's one thing to achieve success. Lots of people can do that. It's another thing entirely to maintain it. That's true greatness.

And unfortunately, that's not us.

Sure, let's remove the two outliers - 15-1 and 6-10.

That leaves us at 33-17 and two division championships. Definition of mediocre right there.

    • Your thoughts? I don't think the trade up or even down value system stays exactly in place this year. Look at all the bad trades that hurt teams that give away too much (49ers for Lance, even us w/the Bears set us back). What trade up except Mahomes/KC was it really a great trade for the team giving up a lot? Same with trading down. Teams will know you don't want to pick and they won't be giving the store to move up because there is not a generational talent to do that for. Now, I believe these possibilities.  The Giants probably won't take QB-Sanders at 3, it's too much pressure if it doesn't work. They don't really need another edge rusher with Carter. I can see them possibly saving face, trade down to even the Panthers at 8 but not asking for a kings ransom. A 1st round swap, a 3rd and 4th and maybe next years 2nd and 4th could be enough without giving up too much. The Giants save in pay and in public opinion and then they can take Sanders or even another QB. For the Panthers to drop down, it has to mean their top 3 picks are not there. Do they take TE-Warren if he drops in their lap at 8 (I do like that)? I believe they would love to drop back but again I don't think teams will pay a lot to move up unless they want a QB before the Saints (our only hope for a good value).  I'm not picking a player, just thinking of the draft in general and value. Reaching doesn't work and more and more teams are realizing that.
    • With the new DL, we should be better at edge by simple addition.   What player would have the biggest impact on the Panthers?  I still see the plan to trade back and take Emmanwori if we can find a trade partner.  Why, you ask?  S is a huge need and they have really only looked at 1 visits/meetings.  We will try to trade up for Princely in the second.  A WR in the third  (Bech or Noel).
