This bullshit narrative is old.  Only once in the history of the franchise has the owner told the GM he needs to retain the HC in place.

I'm also tired of reading that people think JR doesn't want a championship.

Hurney was fired because he got screwed on 2 things.  When Richardson made him dump the veterans in anticipation of a long holdout, the team was decimated of talent and in order to let fans know we were still interested in contending he had to overpay in order to keep any talent and convince ever our own players to stay. Add that for some reason Hurney got bad advice about the cap and said he thought it was going to rise instead of stay flat and even contract. Hurney was the sacrificial lamb for Richardson's errors. Obviously Richardson wasn't too pissed or he wouldn't have brought him back.

Hurney did some stupid things on his own like the Edwards and Brown trades. So it was time for him to go, but to assume he didn't learn anything along the way is likely not true.

Hurney was fired because JR got us into CAP hell and Hurney couldn't get us out. It's also why the plan all along was to bring him back after the patsy fixed the mess.

Apples and Oranges. What did Millen ever do? What has Hurney done wrong since he came back? And yes he has done some good things in his short time already.....

When you realize the only real reason Hurney was fired was because there was no way in hell the City was going to give Richardson millions of dollars for a, 6 win team. The more you understand that JR got what he wanted and winning doesn't matter anymore.

Traded our best WR, cut a better punter, kept and cut a better kicker than Gano. Cut Webb for a QB that was terrible. And this was all in 4 months. Just wait till he has 3 years.

Got value for a WR who was soft and had no heart, traded a good old punter who costs millions for a cheap punter who has played very well except for last week, kept Gano who has been money, Cut Webb who we really haven't missed, traded Clay for Seymour who has been decent and then got Clay back for nothing. Signed Davis for cheap and saved cap space. Signed Olsen who was unhappy, to a 2 year incentive contract that hasn't cost us anything given he got hurt and won't have a 1000 yard season this year. That doesn't even include any pickups or roster changes he has made to account for injuries. He has done a very good job so far.
